No Pool!

The hotel was clean and the staff was friendly. We had to wait a few minutes for our room to be prepped, but I understand since I found out they were fully booked. What I didn’t like was there was NO POOL. The website mentions a pool and there is a sign with directions to a pool, but that leads to a locked door saying “conference room”. I understand, talking to another guest, that shut it down during Covid and never reopened it. So, take that off the website!

The PTAC unit struggled to cool the room down . i was on 4th floor and it was hot out . Maybe current temperature exceed the original design - before we had these extreme temperatures . Some to look at in today’s design and when the place is due for upgrade .

I should start at the beginning. Upon arrival, they would not honor our room from the 3rd party site we booked with. They claimed they could not process the 3rd party card. Well, turns out after 30 mins on the phone with the 3rd party, that the hotel itself was upcharging me and thats why the charge wasnt going through. However they declined to speak with me about any of the cost and refusing my confirmation information. When they finally adjusted their prices to be what I had payed for 2 weeks prior we got into our room over an hour later than our check in. The website claimed they had a pool. SEVERAL sites for this particular hotel claimed it had a pool with pictures. The hotel itself had the "pool" signs up in the halls but alas, there was no pool. When I went to the front to ask i was told there has not been a pool in months. They told me this with an attitude like i lived there and should know. They told me the website does not claim to have a pool. They gaslit me about it until i got screenshots of the website of theirs and 3rd party with "pool included ". Our coffee pot in our room was absolutely disgusting and did not work properly. It was dripping the condensation of the steam into the cup no actual water from the tank being distributed into the cup. The room across from us had 2 small dogs barking frequently. Small thing but super annoying that the hand towel hook iin the bathroom is directly above the light switch. Meaning you are constantly knocking down the towel or searching under it for the light switch, not practical.

Room size, i liked the shower and toilet areas were separated. We had a desk/lounge area in our room which was great for the business aspect of our trip. Breakfast was decent.

Toilet had to be flushed twice every time it was used and must have had a slow leak in tank because it often ran to fill back up. Didn't like breakfast Saturday morning. I can't eat sausage or jalapeños and the belgian waffle was grainy and horrible. I had no hot food option except a bagel. The quiche was excellent Friday morning. Needed more lighting in bathroom. Hard to see to do makeup in there.

Liked the size of the room, free Wi-Fi, the market, breakfast, ease of check in and out.

Breakfast was terrible! The food had no flavor and was cold after he brought out the sandwiches. I definitely recommend different options and maybe food that people can enjoy.

Location was nice and convenient plus the price I thought was a good deal. Walking into the hotel has a very nice appearance to the place and made if feel more expensive than it was.

The breakfast variety could have been better. Moreover, the staff didn't accommodate our request for late checkout but as mentioned before, were kind to accommodate several others.

The room was very quiet, and the size was great. the location is also nice, and close to the center. the staff was quite helpful with most of our requests.

When I checked in for the first night, the manager checked us in and told me I needed to pay for the stay. I informed him that I had already paid via Booking.com. He then switched saying they needed a card on file for incidentals, which I understood, but I used a different card than what the room was booked with. He told me my card was declined... so I used the card I originally booked with, and the payment went through. I looked at my statement the next day and saw that it was more than the $100 incidental charge - it was the charge for the full stay. I went back to the front desk and talked to someone else that said they would refund me the amount. I checked my bank statement a few days later and the full charge had been processed. Called Marriott support to assist in this situation and Marie, who helped me, reached out to the hotel to correct this situation. Marie was a delight to work with, but she let me know that the hotel should be refunding me that amount; but also received some push back since the "manager wouldn't make mistakes" in charging me. Hopefully, the hotel will refund me (not seen it come through yet) and all will be resolved. The beginning of my stay was a bit soured by this first interaction as it wasn't as welcoming as I was hoping.

The room was spacious and clean. I've stayed here before and have always enjoyed the stay! The included breakfast in the morning was also a nice touch.
