How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

Very limited options of breakfast for people with celiac disease. I was only able to eat the cereal. Location felt like it was in an unsafe area

The smell outside hotel was super unpleasant. Every time you stepped outside the trash smell and very nauseating and disgusting.
The room was very spacious and very clean and quiet while on my stay.

The neighborhood wasn't great, however, this has nothing to do with the hotel.

The outside surroundings were a little worrisome.
Good breakfast and perfect location for the concert we attended. And the market near by was amazing.

The staff was friendly. The room was clean and met my expectations. My sister & I were there to see the production of "Shen Yun" and were able to walk to the theater. The free breakfast was also wonderful with an array of choices. The only thing I had a problem with was their parking. There's no self parking & on the app, they kept charging me for multiple nights without being able to make a correction. All in all, it was a beautiful hotel and I'd stay again.

The free breakfast was really awful on this visit. The oatmeal was actually grits, which were not cooked well. The milk for the cereal was brownish, I was told it was goat's milk?? Fruit looked awful. Unfortunately no decent restaurants in the area.
Hotel is very clean, rooms are spacious and comfortable. Their location next to the Hippodrome is ideal when going to a show there. Staff was friendly.

Location is not far from harbor, walking might not be pleasant endeavor especially in area around Lexington market, for me it was ok, but some people do not consider it safe; breakfast is too poor even for SpringHill Suites, keep in mind that there are are few hotels with same name in the City in order not to mix up addresses; some cleaning staff is not speaking any English;
Hotel is brand new, with nice and spacious rooms; bad is good and comfortable, working place is convenient; sofa is pleasant to sit on; wanted to mention coffee which I particularly liked in this hotel;

I didnt like when we returned from our outing that a homeless person was sleeping in the area of the hotel where the luggage carts were. This made me a little uneasy.
I thought the rooms were beautiful. It was clean.

2 food bags sat outside room 2 doors down our entire stay. Staff not that friendly besides the 3 mentioned. Hello/good morning never hurt anyone. Neighborhood. Becareful.
Bar tender, night security & Kevin valet were excellent. Friendly and went above and beyond. Room was very clean and cozy.

They can think of some variety in the breakfast as the same stuff was on the menu everyday. Bathroom needs to be cleaned properly
The hotel is located in a good place near the convention center and the harbour. Staffs were friendly. I stayed there for 5 days. Room size is big.

I didn’t like the other end of Eutaw street.. didn’t look safe and I didn’t like that there wasn’t any secured parking available.
I enjoyed the different restaurants and bars in the surrounding area. That was really convenient to have those accessible at walking distance.

The parking was hard, no dedicated parking garage. Also the breakfast was good, but our muffins were moldy. We asked for extra blankets, and we got some. Then we realized we needed sheets/pillows/blankets for The pullout sofa, they never brought them up. Also the room was very dark, hated the lights only work when the card is in the slot. That sucked.
The price, staff, and cleanliness was amazing!
