SpringHill Suites was our go to hotel for our family vacation every year at VA Beach. Unfortunately, there was not anything to like during our stay this year. It was a horrible stay, the staff was extremely rude, and the the bed was shot and not usable.

There were a lot of issues with our stay this year, but the most serious issue, however, was the condition of our room. We reserved and paid for a room with two king beds, yet one of the mattresses (the one nearest the balcony) was completely unusable. It sagged severely in the middle, making it impossible for two people to sleep without rolling into the center. I reported this to the front desk on Monday morning, and after repeated attempts—three separate conversations over the course of our stay—no one from maintenance ever came to inspect or address the issue. Each time I was assured that someone would look into it, but there was no follow-up and no resolution. As a result, my wife and I spent the entire week sleeping uncomfortably, clinging to the edges of the bed to avoid rolling into the sagging center. On the final evening, I asked to speak with the manager on duty and was told there was none present, only to be given a name JD Banahan - Front Desk Manager and told to return the next morning. At checkout, I was too exhausted from dealing with the issue all week to pursue another conversation that, based on our experience, seemed unlikely to resolve anything. This stay was both disappointing and frustrating. We paid a premium price expecting premium service and accommodations, but instead received the opposite—poor service from some staff, no follow-up on a major room issue, and no effort to make the situation right during our stay.

We got locked out of our room and couldn’t get in. Maintenance couldn’t open and had to get IT company to come!!! We couldn’t get in for over 2 hours!!! We needed to get medications and we needed car keys to go to store!!! Very inconvenient!!! The staff was very apologetic!!!

Our room was fantastic! We had five guests and a baby, and everyone felt comfortable. The sofa bed was incredibly cozy, and one of our kids particularly loved the lower bed. We stayed on the tenth floor, and the view was stunning, although it felt a bit high up. Breakfast was fresh and delicious, with a wide variety of options to please everyone. We enjoyed the indoor pool, which was great, and they provided towels in the pool area. There’s also an outdoor shower for guests. A crib was supplied for the infant, and we found plenty of extra linens in the room.

We did not get house keeping service on our 2 day stay. Although the crib did make it in time for putting baby down; we requested the crib at noon and it took 2 more calls in order to receive it at 10:30 PM. Dunes restuarant bar drinks are on the pricer side.

Only 1 thing - the sliding glass door to go to the balcony was very hard to open and close. It kept sticking like it wasnt on the track right.

Loves the view when you first walk in Liked the pools and seemed fairly clean Very good customer service, shout out to a young lady from Romania, didn’t get her name but she was excellent. Everyone I came across was super nice.

I would say housekeeping took quite longer to clean the room and they dont change the bed sheets.

Location was great. Right on the beach with lots of shopping and restaurants within walking distance. We rarely had to use our car during our trip. Plenty of parking in the garage. And an elevator for the parking garage made losing and unloading so convenient. The Two pools were great, one indoor one outdoor. The outdoor pool was off to the side and never crowed while we were there. The Breakfast staff did a great job keeping things stocked. Selection was plentiful and the hot items changed daily. And every room in the hotel has a balcony with a true ocean front view. And while the jets that flew overhead from the nearby base took some getting used to, they were really cool to see.

On the balcony, the vent thing is very loud. When it’s on it’s pretty much all you hear. And our balcony had one of the slightly curved design which meant one side was way slimmer than the other. Being afraid of heights, the slimmer portion was a struggle for me. Inside the couch and trundle bed are just not comfortable at all. They’re so hard. My kids complained. A lot. The glass on our doors that lead to the balcony were super cloudy. The glass was very clean on the outside but the inner portion made it to where the view was super obscured when the door was closed. And there was another vent thing (sorry I don’t know technical terms) in the closet. I didn’t realize it until we were packing to go home but it was actually leaking a lot of water. The bottom of our hamper was soaked. Luckily it was only our dirty clothes but I let the front desk know when we checked out.

The stay was great and the breakfast was on point!

Staff did not clean hallways. Trash on the floor was there until we leaved. Need to change carpet in the elevator.
