The check in process. Something was wrong with the room key maker and the receptionist had to made them in another room. Then I had to come back to the front desk and have another key made for my husband because only one was made.

Overall we have always loved this hotel, the friendly staff, the location, breakfast, and the facilities. Having stayed here many times over the years, including using this hotel for the family and wedding party when my daughter got married (We had moved from the valley years ago to Florida but my daughter wanted to get married at the church my husband and I did in Bellaire. Ohio..the reception was at the Wheeling Country club and this was very convenient). The staff was so helpful and provided the extra large room for my husband and I because I had all of the reception items and gowns etc. We just wanted to point out some things that we noticed on this last visit. We were not upset about internet being out on the 4th floor and the girl downstairs was amazing in letting us relocate to the 5th floor right away. The room on the 5th floor had water damage on the ceiling and it was very noticeable. The windows really do need to either be replaced or cleaned from the hard water. We were not even able to enjoy the beautiful views. I was not able to open the curtain on the right to bring in more daylight because it had been broken and tied to the railing so it had to stay closed blocking out half of the window light. We also noticed the downstairs lobby was very warm and muggy compared to what we remember from before making breakfast or visiting with family uncomfortable. In the past I would come to the lobby to read. do crafts, or visit...we rode to Wheeling Park and visited at the cafe instead. The only other thing I would note is how difficult using the TV options is. My husband and I do a lot of sightseeing and walking and hiking or golfing and when we return we would like to just enjoy a movie. We now bring a fire stick that we use at most hotels but the TV system did not allow us. On three or four occasions. We had to call for assistance because we couldn't even get the television to turn on or tune in to the channels.

Staff was e extremely friendly, and helpful with a couple issues we had with the TV and when there was no internet on the fourth floor they kindly just moved us. The low water pressure issue that occurred during our stay was fixed very promptly and efficiently and any questions or concerns we had were dealt with in a kind and efficient manner. The staff present during our stay was amazing 🤩.

We found a bra behind the couch, my daughter who stayed in another room had to change rooms bc of a broken bed, and the other daughter had a broken shower rod. Had to wait for the pool to open which wasn’t a big deal but it was an half hour later than they said and when you have littles that’s a long time to wait.

Well, I stayed there before in 2016 & a few times previously, but unfortunately discovered bedbugs in my room & my son's families room in 2016...wanted to give Marriott a second chance for my 50th high school reunion, & told due to AI breach no keys to be had, which meant the clerk had to take me to the room every time to let me in & let us into every key coded facility...this was very inconvenient, stopped me from visiting all the places I wanted to visit; & I didn't feel real safe, traveling by myself!!

This time the room was clean & comfortable as far as I was able to experience it. Also, it was close to Wheeling Park, where my reunion took place.

For a King bed, there were only 4 small square pillows. However, that is a “first world” problem and everything else was more than satisfactory. We didn’t hate the amazing mountain view from the 5th floor ; )

From the moment we walked in, Josh, the manager at the front desk was warm and welcoming. He quickly got us checked in and helped me register for the Bonvoy program so that we can earn points for future stays. Josh also shared about the indoor pool/gym hours and when the breakfast bar would be open. While they were unable to provide the typical continental breakfast due to kitchen issues, the staff provided plenty of pre-packaged items (yogurts, bagels, muffins, sausages, etc). The coffee was good too.

The shower rod in the bath room was coated with black soot/mold. Not smelly but it did get on towels draped over the rod.
