The sheets were washed but still had visible stains, one fork in the kitchen; we found a lunchable box underneath a bed, so we figured it wasn’t fully cleaned and stocked. The pool looks nice from the outside, but when you get in you can see paint chips and cracks… our son got a cut. This is not about the property, but still it’s important to share: there is a lot of bears around in August. We encountered a black bear about 20 feet from us while stargazing for the Perseids around 5 am across the property.

Good location, full kitchen, friendly and knowledgeable staff, everyone has their own entrance and privacy, parking (but we had no car) spacious rooms, fireplace (but it was summer) 3 mins to the beach, a little backyard, next to restaurants and cafes, and the 267 TART bus which made it convenient coming from Truckee, CA / Amtrak.

Friendly proprietor, allowed me a very early check-in; good spot on main drag near shops, restaurants, taverns, ice cream shops, and walking distance from King's Beach swimming area. Not fancy, and exterior door handle a bit loose, but a quaint old motel vibe, with a pool and little rec room with ping-pong table, and as reasonable a price as is available at Tahoe in summer.

The room felt a bit old and dusty, which I personally didn’t mind but my partner who has dust allergy did.

Easy walking access to Kings Beach and businesses around the area! All the parkings around the area are very competitive especially after 11 or so on weekends, so our location was a huge advantage.

Hotel is very rundown, the bed was surprisingly comfy though.

The manager was so helpful, very friendly.

Great location with walking to King's Beach and restaurants/ice cream. Was nice having an easy parking space to walk around. It is right next door to a burger joint that was satisfactory. The place is dated, and the beds could be more comfortable, but it worked for what we needed and descent price for north Lake Tahoe.

If I have to be picky the parking isn't great but it works.

I think the price is excellent for the area, but the hotel is not new by any means. The staff is extremely helpful.

Whole place was pretty outdated, room had very few outlets. But I think all these factors keep the property affordable.

Great location. Super close to the lake and not too far from Palisades Tahoe. Price was good compared to comps in the area.

Location great, near many different north lake ski resorts such as Tahoe XC, Mt Rose and Diamond peak. Owner went out of his way to get us a new room when first room had problems with hot water. Very helpful.

The tv was a little hard to figure out and pretty sure we had a queen sheet on our king bed so it kept falling off.

The beds are always super comfortable here. The location is close to crystal bay club.

Our bathtube was in poor condition. Big patches of paint were going off and it was full of hairs from previous guests. We also spotted mold on the shower curtain. The rest of the room was fairly clean.

The host is very welcoming and accommodating. The location is very good, only 20 minutes from the Northstar ski resort and 5 mins from restaurants.

The room had a black toilet that was a little creepy and my granddaughter would not use it. Bathtub was really nasty looking. It was painted and the paint was coming off and it looked really grungy and their were lots of ants

The staff was great. The bed was comfortable. The room was clean but really needs a make over.

I wish the appliances were a bit fresher - the coffee machine was very old and felt… Very used. Also, there was a plastic bowl to use on top of the microwave that had paper towels/tissues that someone left under it and I guess it went unnoticed. All in all place felt clean though.

Good location, about a 3 min walk from the beach. There is a gas station food mart right across the street which was convenient as well. A 7/11 is close by too. Owner was friendly and helpful. Good value for the price, cozy little room with all the necessities. Overall, I think it was good value for the very affordable price, especially if you’re someone like me who was just looking for a place to sleep for one night.

The bed isn't the most comfortable. And the bedding is not the cleanest or nicest. But we stay here due to good price and value compared to other options in Tahoe.

An affordable place to stay in Tahoe near the beach and near some ski resorts (North Star, Palisades). Solid WiFi. Great heating in the room during the winter. Check in anytime with the host.
