How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.

Verified reviewGreat location, easy to walk to the main downtown restaurants etc. Well appointed, comfortable.
No pool on site, have to go a mile down the road to use the sister property pool. Had to ask for the shower temperature to be turned up.

Verified reviewThe rooms were lovely, clean and comfortable. All the amenities you would expect. The location was ideal for easy access to all that the town offers. Our car stayed in the parking lot the entire time.
In spite of instructions asking guests to close the loving gates, the front gate was constantly left open. Perhaps an automatic door return would help.

Verified reviewThe hotel has lovely little casitas . I am told they are all about the same. Ours had a bedroom. living room, kitchen area and bathroom. Our bed was comfortable, there was a good table to work from and Wifi was good. lots of plugs to plug in all the gadgets and at the desk. the room was well appointed there is a nice courtyard with tables and i was able to also work out there and had good wifi the location is just a couple blocks from the main part of town. Staff was very attentive and aimed to please
The price to value to what you get is the big disappointment. I knew what we were paying, and from the photos and descriptions, we got about what i expected, but i still hate when hotels 5 star rates for a 3 star hotel due to demand. ( stayed at several 5 star hotels in big cities in the weeks just prior to this stay, and paid a lot less) parking was sort of an issue. there were not enough spaces in the lot, when we would come back at night, but i had no problem finding space on the street.

Way too expensive for what it was. Room had a musty smell and upholstered furniture was well worn and dirty. It all should be replaced. Staff was not accomodating. My parents who were also staying were given an upstairs room. I let them know that my father was disabled and was told there were no other rooms available which was not the case. They ended up having to switch to a ground floor room later which caused us to be late to the event we were in town for. Also they would not accommodate even a slightly early check in or out over the phone even though when we arrived/left it wouldn't have been an issue. Stay somewhere else.

Verified reviewThe suite 6, Raven Suite, ground floor was vety nice.. good quality furnishings, bed was extremely comfortable, bathroom lovely,, 2 big screen TVs. Central AC worked very well. Lovely fireplace but we did not need as it was warm. This property is either new or newly upgraded and the owners spent some serious money on that remodel. Lovely open courtyard with fountain. Very quiet location. Spas nearby.. Location was perfect. We could walk to everything we wanted to do except the dinner we attended at the Ojai Valley Inn. I'd rather stay at Su Nido again.
Not a deal breaker by any means but hard to tell from pictures on website if there was a real stove. The kitchenette is really an enhanced wet bar. No stove in Raven suite. Sink w/ cabinets, some plates and cutlery, 2 glasses 2 mugs, 2 bowls , 2 plates. Toaster and microwave but no hot plate or stove. Reheat only.. Refrigerator was really like a 30 bottle wine fridge. Kurigcoffee machine but there is the best Ojai coffee shop/roaster 2 blocks south. Go there.

I didn’t know when I booked that there was no pool. The sister hotel location included a pool but it was tiny.

We try our best to make it very clear that the salt water pool and in ground hot tub are located at our sister property, a mile up the road, but are available for use by all Su Nido guests. Verified reviewthe suite was just as described with a comfortable sitting room with fireplace, an well-equipped kitchenette and a bedroom with a very comfortable king bed. also the bathroom had separate shower and tub. one of the best spaces was the beautiful courtyard where we were able to sit and enjoy being outside.

No guest service at all. I never so a human been the services are the worst for the price. The price of the Hotel is very high for the services Su Nido offers. For two hundred dollars I could have stay in the Ojai Inn.

As Su Nido is only 9 suites, we manage check-ins and services via our sister property, Casa Ojai Inn, a mile up the road. Still, our GM often spends much of his afternoons at Su Nido. I'm sorry he missed you! And, as there is no hotel in Ojai called "Ojai Inn", you may have confused it with the "Ojai Valley Inn" or "Casa Ojai Inn". Rates at the Ojai Valley Inn start around $500 or $600/night, so you likely were referring to our other property, Casa Ojai Inn, which has guest rooms in the $200 range. Kind Regards, Cam
