How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

They double charged me through booking tried telling me they didn’t had over 500 dollars of mine that I needed during my trip told me next time I should just deal with them directly booking had to refund me the money they charged me cause the property hung up on me when I addressed the situation again had 2 rooms for my family of six was nice they put them next to each other but 144 smelt horrible of cat piss. There was also a creepy guy taking pictures of me and my kids at the pool they told us to call the cops they weren’t remotely concerned comp breakfast straight joke water coffee and dried fruit loops maybe a muffin if they had them that day
we are sorry to inform you, but it is virtual impossible for the hotel to charge the guests card as the hotel does not receive any of the guest's personal cards. if the hotel does not have your personal card information how could the hotel even charge you. we are not magical being. any charges to the guests personal card are a booking.com problem as they are the ones you gave the personal card information to what happens is the guest chooses to pay the website booking.com and booking.com then gives the hotel an encrypted booking.com card that even has booking.com as the name on the card I truly don't believe the guests personal name on her card is listed as booking.com. so, the hotel does not have nor can see any of the guest's personal information. so that would be why you stated that booking.com is the one who refunded you bc they and only they have your billing information it is impossible for the hotel to charge cards that they do not have the information of.

Verified reviewi booked by booking.com. but, they denied. because, they did not get conformation from booking.com. it was 12;00am. my family slept at car.
I am very sorry for the inconvenience I checked this out in our system and the hotel never received the booking from booking.com. I know it sucks but if the hotel does not receive the reservation there is nothing the hotel can do. we are very sorry for this booking.com does not send over reservations after 12:00am we have tried taking this up with booking.com many many times and they refuse to fix it and as we have no control over the website, we can't even make a warning. if you would like to report further it would have to be with booking.com as booking is a 3rd party reservation site. the hotel is very sorry for this and really hopes that booking.com can fix their problems so that this may not happen again we the hotel will try again to report this to booking but as it is their website the hotel can only do so much. again, we are very sorry this happened and hope you consider our hotel again. (maybe book before 12:00am so it won't happen again) and again we will try our best to further report this to booking.com as they did not fully send the reservation to the hotel.

Refrigerator was broken. The door were detached from the unit and just hanging on the magnets. Shower did not work. Smell of mold in the room. Stay away from that place.

Run down and the room wasn’t properly set up upon arrival: no shower curtain and YouTube app on TV was not available. They offer breakfast and it was only coffee and cereal. On a couple of days, coffee was not available during breakfast.

The beds were both broken and sunk in the middle. The shampoo was in packets and the towels were very very small. The staff was very friendly. The only reason it's a 3 not lower. If not for the staff it'd be a 1. Towels were stained but nothing was condemned so we have stayed in worse places.

The blankets were dirty, there were 2 used condoms in the bathroom trashcan, the fridge was gross, there is a couch that looks like it was removed out of someone’s garage in the 90’s, and neighbors blasted music all night into the morning.
