How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

Outdated rooms, nowhere to sit outside on property, could hear the people above us walking around-squeaky floors. Continental breakfast was disappointing.
Location. It was clean. Staff were nice.

We were a family of 3 adults and 2 children. The room had two full beds (I had been expecting queen size). I had requested a rollaway for my grandson but was told there wouldn't be room for it. So true! The room was very cramped and we had to have 3 people sleep in a full size bed. Also, the carpet was damp.
We were grateful for a place to stay in a very popular vacation spot. The breakfast was decent. The kids enjoyed the pool.

Check in staff was unfriendly. Breakfast was very sad. No protein - a major problem if you’re doing the Mickelson trail, like we were.

Breakfast was the usual. Rooms were a bit dated but very clean - and comfortable. The location is near both Crazy Horse and Mt Rushmore and the little Main Street is nice - and right at your door.

The room next to us had her tv on till 1:00 am Friday and Saturday night and was loud, couldn’t sleep. But other than that, was good, staff friendly too.

There is no internet away from the lobby which the host informed of at check in. When able to access internet, it was not a secure connection. There is no internet access in the hotel rooms.
Hotel is centralized to many local attractions; Crazy Horse, Mt. Rushmore, Custer State Park. Walkable distance to every restaurant and shop in Hill City. Hotel was clean and quiet.

The placement of towel holder in the bathroom was odd but we made it work. Breakfast was not as expected. Would have liked a fresh fruit option as well. It is not a hot breakfast, cold only

I think they could update the continental breakfast. And also update the toaster.
Very convenient for what we were there for. And like being close in walking distance to places on Hilll City Main Street

The continental breakfast was sub par. Hard boiled eggs, frozen waffles, juice machine was broken. The chairs in the room were not comfortable. There was a nail coming off one of the seats. The TV SELECTION didn't match the printed card.
The whirlpool, Sauna. Clean staff was nice. Bed was comfortable. Nice they had a elevator. Parking was sufficient.

The beds were very uncomfortable. Seem to be worn out. We had a roll out bed and the springs were broken on one side.
The staff was very friendly and polite. We asked for more towels and washcloths and the gentleman was very nice and helpful. The pool was super nice. Didn't realize it was saltwater which is nice. When we checked in the lady at the counter set us up with a groundfloor room near the pool. We brought our 2 dogs with so that was very nice being on the ground floor.

The a/c's didn't work had to which rooms, and the booking.com that I booked through didn't work well because I had a handicapped person and they didn't relate that to the hotel, but the staff that checked us in was great. The parking was terrible, trucks and trailers in the way and on a hill its stuff with a wheelchair. only one handicap place.
I thought the breakfast room was good with the except they shut it down to early, because when there was alot of people in there you couldn't hardly move or even sit, had to go to your room. need to add more fruit and veg and hot eggs.
