There was no free breakfast at the location, but it was within walking distance to the Waffle House, which is one Arizona's finest and most affordable American-style breakfast restaurants. I really enjoyed the breakfast, but it was overpriced for what it was.

This Super 8 was located too far from the University of Arizona or the Tucson convention center if the truth be known. It was an old two-story complex without an elevator in a was dark and foreboding area, on the edge of the Arizona desert. There was traffic noise all night, and was too expensive for a Super 8 Motel, which tend to be quite affordable in other regions of the country.

    Property response:

Greetings Patrick Karle, We regret that you were unsatisfied with some issues of your stay with us. I would like to address a couple of your comments to set the record straight, if I may. Those would be the breakfast, the security, and the location, primarily. The matter of pricing is a matter of availability to all rooms in an "economy class" hotel for the nearest 5 miles and I assure you we were heavily occupied that evening and even turning away some business because we did not have the room size they needed for their families. We always have a free breakfast .....between 6am and 9 am. We have no kitchen so it is a "continental style breakfast which includes: fresh fruit, 2 juice types, coffee, tea, 2 cereal chooses, instant oatmeal (generally 3 flavor choices), toast, individually packaged muffins or breakfast danishes, individually wrapped cinamon streussel cakes, milk, and a mixed selection of no less than 2 of the following (chilled) yogurts, puddings, fruit cups, appelsauce. These items are not available outside the breakfast hours but they are avalabe for free, and we only request that guests do not take more than they will consume for that meal on that day. The lighting around the property is always in full service and no less than 18 high intensity lampson the poles and building over the parking lot. We monitor all of the parking lot with 10 cameras, 24 hours a day and we actively discourage vagrancy ad transients from entering or remaining on the property. We have procedures to handle them all. The night staff (yes 2 hour on duty humans) have no less than 6 years each in dealing with security concerns in hotels. You can even se the cameras when you are checking in at the front desk. The concern you have about being "too far" from the Tucson Convention Center or the "U of A" Main Campus seems a matter of opinion. There are no hotels in the immediate area of the convention center. The ones closest to it are all more expensive than this "economy" hotel. We re the closest Super 8 to that facility though and it can easily be reached within 5 minutes in a car. The University in 12 minutes, and no hotels closer to the campus have a price as economical. A small footnote, we have no elevators, but most 2 story hotels do not and I welcome you to include that in your searches before booking anywhere in the future. Happy travels and we hope to see you again! -Howard Front Desk Auditor

I booked this property on Booking.com. I arrived to find this hotel is in an undesirable location. Appears to have lots of transients and possible illegal drug activity. The parking lot has poor lighting. I did not feel safe staying there or parking my car in their lot. I notified the front desk clerk that I wanted to cancel my reservation because I feared for my personal and property safety. I was told that I needed to notify Booking.com as she could not refund my money. I have tried reaching out to Management at this Hotel to no avail. The photos on Booking.com do not adequately represent what you see when you arrive to this crack hotel. I DID NOT STAY THERE, but they sure charged my credit card for a room that I did not occupy! Pretty crappy business practices!

    As above

    Property response:

Dear Sheryl, Your visit to this hotel was obviously unpleasant for you. The obsession you have with narcotics does not hold up however in a business model. The property has over a dozen high power lights over a parking lot that is less than a football fielsd in length. The night of your visit to our front desk none of those lights were out. They are in conjunction with an array of 13 cameras around our parking lot and front desk which are visible to the guests ad our staff at all times in the Front desk area. The homeless and "transients" (your word) you saw in the area are not permitted to occupy this property or it's parking lot. Publicly available information regarding the safety and crime in the entire area will vindicate the effectiveness of our sercurity methods. Piece of information that you are missing is that NO business is in control of the public sidewalks beside the city streets. That is a legality that is true in every city in the U.S.A. and in fact we do not have anybody camping on ours like some cities because at this property they know they are not going to be permitted opportunities for refuse searches, panhandeling, and guest harrassment. The chief complaint you raised about the charges to your room you also answered. You were told in the evening to cancel the reservation that night. This is alreaady a generous offer since the booking.com website already states a time before 6pm the night of checkin for a free cancellation. In the end the charges were not applied until 2A.M. later that evening when you failed to take actions. This is no different than the policy for any other hotel, airline, or ticketed venue. You reserved a spot that made it unavailable for any other person. The reservation cancellation process is also standard reponsibility of the guest, because if it was the hotels' the accusation would then be that we double sold the room without consent of the reserving individual. We are not airlines. -Howard Super 8 Front Desk

The room was in bad shape. Holes in the walls. The first floor doors looked like they have been kicked in. Bathroom door would not close or lock. Floors were so dirty our feet turned black. Very seedy people hanging around the complex. Talking outside the room all night. Keep waiting for someone kicking in the door. This super 8 should be shut down.

Where they supposedly had continental breakfast was "closed for cleaning" and I couldn't even get coffee there or in the room which had a mini pot but not coffee. While I was checking out a guest checking in asked for water and was told he had to pay a dollar for a bottle of it and they couldn't accept a card for payment only cash.

Nothing. Well the night man was nice to us

The property was dirty! Our sheets were dirty before we got in to bed. When we left that morning I went and talked with the maid to ask her to charge our sheets and we needed more talls. She tried to give them to me to do it myself. I asked her if her job was to make up the bed, change the sheets and to make sure we had talls. She said si si! So I asked if she’d do our room and she said yes! Came back and our room and bed was the same. My husband went down to tell the manager and he handed my husband the talls and told him wait he’d get sheets so we can change our sheets! What! Ugh! Why did we pay all the money to stay there and they wanted us to change our own bedding The TV didn’t work. My husband finally was able to fix the TV. It was dirty. Ugh
