How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewGood location between downtown and Park Hill, right across from the Cherokee Casino and Gift Shop. Room was clean and there were no noise issues, even on the Saturday of Labor Day/Cherokee National Holiday weekend. Continental breakfast was basic, but included.
The carpet in the 2nd floor hallway was visibly filthy. Otherwise no major issues.

Verified reviewIt was close to the river, the lady who checked us in (it was late like 9:30) was so friendly, so kind, and I really appreciate how nice she was
The rooms were not very clean, there was a dirty sock left in bathroom behind the bathroom door, there was a huge sticky spill on the wall in the closet and the tv in the room was so little. The pool was closed the entire weekend
Dear Guest, Thank you for sharing your experience with us. We're very happy to hear that you had a positive check-in and check-out experience, and especially that our front desk staff made you feel welcome — your kind words will certainly be passed along to her. We sincerely apologize for the cleanliness issues you encountered during your stay. Finding a dirty sock in the bathroom and a spill in the closet is completely unacceptable, and we’re truly sorry this was missed. We’ll be addressing this with our team to ensure this won't be repeated again. As for the pool, it has not been advertised as an available amenity for a long time, and is currently not in operation. Since it’s not promoted during booking, it should not have been expected as part of your stay. We value your feedback and will use it to continue improving. Best Regards, Tahlequah Inn Management

Verified reviewThe only good thing I can say is that the AC was cold and there was good water pressure in the shower. However, the shower head was disgusting. The staff were friendly and helpful.
The hallways were hot and wreaked horribly. The carpet in the hallways is disgusting and covered in stains and crumbs. There was a couch in the lobby that was also covered in disgusting looking stains. The bed and pillows were awful to sleep on. The “blanket” felt and looked more like a curtain. The side door outside handle was broke off so I was not able to enter even with my key card. The vending machines did not work. The tv was tiny and the remote would not work from the bed because of how it’s positioned and I was not able to move the receiver because the cable was too short. The pool was closed for maintenance. (Which is understandable but disappointing) I booked this stay for a relaxing get away and it was anything but relaxing. Had the rates been cheaper I wouldn’t be so disappointed but I feel I grossly over paid for what I received.
Dear Guest, Thank you for sharing your feedback. We're sorry to hear that your experience with us did not meet your expectations. While we’re glad you appreciated the air conditioning, water pressure, and the friendliness of our staff, we truly regret that other aspects of your stay left you disappointed. We'd like to clarify a few things that may have impacted your stay. Blankets are always available upon request at the front desk—our team is happy to provide them anytime. For guest safety, all side doors are exit-only and remain locked for entry; access to the building is only through the front entrance. Our vending machines are regularly maintained and functioning properly, and we encourage guests to ask for assistance if they encounter difficulty operating them. As for the pool, we do not list it as an available amenity, and we try to make that clear during the booking process to avoid confusion, so its closure should not have impacted your stay. We understand the disappointment, but we strive to be transparent about our offerings during the booking process. That said, we take your concerns about cleanliness and room condition seriously and will follow up with our housekeeping and maintenance teams to ensure improvements are made, if necessary. Warm regards, General Manager Tahlequah Inn

The price for the facilities. Had I known what we would be walking into I would have gladly paid more for somewhere else. The pool was closed. The beds were not comfortable and sounded like they would fall apart when you moved, and the curtains were filthy and had a huge patch of very visible mold on them. When I let the staff know about it at checkout, he blamed it on the paint crew that was working on the outside of the building??
Dear Hogan, Thank you for sharing your feedback. We’re sorry to hear your stay did not meet your expectations. The pool is currently closed for maintenance, and we apologize if this was not clear at booking. Regarding the curtains, we take cleanliness seriously, and the condition you described is not typical of our property. The ongoing exterior painting was unrelated to the curtains, and we regret if there was any misunderstanding during your checkout conversation. We appreciate your comments and will continue working to improve the guest experience. Best regards, GM- Tahlequah Inn

Verified reviewThis place was recently purchased and still undergoing renovations. The room was large, clean and comfortable. I didn’t give it a 10 simply because it never intends to be a luxury hotel but rather an affordable place for travelers. Based on that criteria I do give it top ratings. The employees (maybe owners) were amazingly cheerful and genuinely caring, wanting our stay to be as good as possible. When I was passing through the lobby the next morning i was greeted warmly even knowing what room I was staying in. I would recommend this place to anyone traveling through Tahlequah, OK

The fact that the pool wasn’t open. Part of the soul purpose of renting a room from here was the indoor pool
Dear Anonymous guest, Thank you for your feedback. We’re glad to hear you found the bed comfortable. Regarding the pool, we sincerely apologize for any inconvenience caused. The indoor pool is currently under repairs, so we have removed it from our listed amenities. At the time of your booking, the pool was not shown as an available amenity on our property. Thank you for sharing your feedback, Tracey. We apologize that your experience didn’t meet your expectations, and we’d like to take a moment to address your concerns. While we do not have coffee machines in the rooms and therefore do not advertise them online, we do offer 24-hour coffee in the lobby for our guests. Although we don’t allow breakfast items from the lobby to be taken to the rooms, you’re welcome to bring your own food. Regarding the door, it was slightly loose but did lock securely. It has since been completely fixed, and we appreciate your understanding. Our beds come with decorative top sheets, and blankets are available at the front desk upon request. We apologize if this wasn’t communicated to you during check-in. The chair you mentioned had some wear and tear, but it has since been replaced. Thank you for bringing this to our attention. We only advertise a continental breakfast, and that is what was available for you during your stay, so we’re sorry if it didn’t meet your expectations. We truly value your feedback and appreciate you taking the time to share it with us. Best regards, Tahlequah Inn Management

The place seemed to be under a remodel. The elevators didn't work and the stairwells were rough. Vending machines didn't work. The clientele also seemed a bit sketchy. Wasn't very clean overall.
Dear Jacob, Thank you for your feedback. We're glad to hear that our staff was friendly and that you found the beds comfortable. We apologize for the issues you encountered with the elevators, stairwells, and vending machines. At the time of your stay (Jan 3, 4), we had just begun our renovations. Since then, the property has been updated with fresh paint and new flooring, and we're continuing work on the pool and elevator. We're sorry to hear about your concerns with cleanliness and the environment during your visit, but we can assure you that since the renovations, guest experiences have greatly improved. We hope you'll consider staying with us again soon and look forward to providing you with a better experience. Best Regards, General Manager

Want a refund the hotel smelled horrible from the entry. Was not told the elevator was out of commission. On our way up the stairs to check the room the hallways were disgusting. The lights didn’t work in the room we were given. Went back downstairs asked for a refund and was told they weren’t refunding me.
Dear Cioffi, Thank you for sharing your feedback. We sincerely apologize for the issues you encountered during your stay. However, we’d like to clarify a few points regarding your concerns. At the time of check-in, your main concern was taking the stairs. Please note that we do not advertise having an elevator, so unfortunately, we cannot offer a refund for this reason. Regarding the light issue, after inspecting the room following your departure, we found that all the lights had been unplugged from the wall, which is unusual and something that would likely have been noticed during a routine room check. You did not mention any other reasons for a refund, and as per our 24-hour cancellation policy, we are unable to process a refund in this case. We value your feedback and hope this helps to clarify the situation. Thank you for understanding. Kev GM- Tahlequah Inn

First room smelled so bad we couldn't even walk in. Got another room on second floor but the elevator wasn't working. The vending machines on the second floor weren't working and no water in the first floor machine. Pool was closed. Dirty carpet. No blankets in room. Requested blankets. One had a burn hole in it. Had to hold the toilet handle down to get it to flush and the handle was barely hanging on.
Dear Guest, Thank you for your feedback regarding your recent stay at Tahlequah Inn, and we're sorry to hear about the issues you experienced.
