United StatesDidn't like that it wasn't very clean. It's an older unit so signs of wear are expected, but there were definitely some upkeep tasks that have been neglected. At the price point they're asking it was fine, but it's definitely no frills.
Liked the price and ease of check in. Size was small, but functional. Building was quiet. Hosts were responsive and courteous.

CanadaWhat the property needs to do is clearly mark the 3 separate apartment unit doors with the street numbers ( 185, 187, and 187 side door). I didn't know which unit I was staying in and had to wait until other leasees arrived to sort it out. In the past when I have used Booking in the US and Canada I got a clear confirmation by email and the unit was staffed. In this case I got confirmation from Booking via email but with inadequate details including lack of address and had no way to contact them. On the advice from others I went to Booking online and did find a part of a message ( it was truncated because the Booking message was interrupted due to an unreliable online platform). I was able to find a way to contact the property owner, who was very responsive and then sent me full details with door combinations via regular email. That worked out and he did call back to ensure that I was able to get in and get settled. In the future it would be much better if the Booking application sent information via email with address, needed combinations to access the property, contact information on how to contact the property owner, and information for contacting Booking when problems arise. This wasn't a problem with the property owner but rather with the Booking agency.
once I was able to access the apartment unit, it was very comfortable and enjoyable. It is obvious that the property owner takes great pride in how he maintains his units and he does an excellent job in doing so. I would gladly consider a repeat stay there.

New ZealandListing details on Booking.com regarding check in times, and payment details such as having to make a bank deposit for payment were not great and in some cases were inconsistent. That stuff needs to be updated to be accurate (i.e. that there is no need for bank deposit). Numbers on the doors would be helpful so that one feels confident that one is attempting to unlock the correct room. And the 185/187 address and location was initially confusing with no number 187 being able to be seen from the street.
It was cheaper than other listings, in the area I needed to be (within 10 mins drive), and essentially functional for my needs.

United StatesStairs to the second floor are somewhat steep, narrow and curving. This might be an issue for some folks. It should be advertised. Not handicapped accessible. Lucky for me my knees are okay. Bed has no pressure points ( a good thing) but somehow not firm enough for my back though it's on a wood base. Go figure! It was comfortable but not exceptional. Please advertise what's within walking distance and location of public transportation plus your favorite restaurants and attractions in the area. A minor issue is that I arrived in August and winter decor was present ( e.g. snowy scene in bathroom). Decor can be changed with the seasons.
Good location- five to ten minutes' drive to lots of interesting places and restaurants. Gleaming clean. Highly responsive, helpful and friendly hosts. Small place that had TV, wifi, kitchenette, private bathroom, free parking. The price is less than a hotel. Excellent value.

CanadaAddress on the front of the house says a different house number. No where does it say the correct house number on the house. I was confused on the house and had to ask the neighbour. Clearer instructions would help with this. Also instructions should include when entering the door code there is a continuous noise. You have to keep entering the code while this noise is going on. Also the soap dispenser was out of soap in the bathroom. So had no way of washing my hands. I had to use the dish soap in the kitchen. Also I think there should be a face cloth and hand towel available in the bathroom.
Cute little space to stay while travelling through. Bed was comfy.
