Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

Fun local motel. Very close to a beautiful beach (7 min drive) and easily located on HW101. The shared bathrooms were clean.

United StatesWiFi was weak. Bathroom is shared by 3 rooms. You have to put in your own Netflix information to watch Netflix. We had trouble figuring out the tv. And the ac. But after all that was figured out we enjoyed the place. We would definitely stay there again!
It was quaint and had a restaurant for breakfast. Nice staff. The bed was very comfortable. It was quiet.

United StatesThere are 13 stairs to get up to the rooms which 3 rooms are above the restaurant, so not very accessible for the walking impaired. I was a bit nervous about having the bathroom and shower out in the hallway which all three rooms shared, but it was never an issue during our stay.
The room was great. Our room had one double and 2 single beds in it. It had fridge, tv, microwave, coffee maker and real cups which we loved. New style air conditioner was wonderful and they also had a fan. Good insulation of sound between rooms.

United StatesIt does NOT have a Ramp up to the area where you go Up to the rooms. While it may Not seem Important , given the Fact that whoever stays Up in the rooms, must climb the stairs to get to the room, It Still would have been nicer if I could have rolled my suitcase up to That point. Although the beds were somewhat comfortable, they need to have a Support on one side so that they do not slide. (I hurt my legs several times because they had slid and the Hard Board hurts).
Although Nick was a bit "Crusty" at first (being that I did NOT realize that the room would be "Sharing" a bathroom and wasn't sure if this would be a "Safe" place for me to stay) and was Hesitant to commit to staying there. As well as I have Some mobility challenges and the room was Upstairs. He did give me the key to see if I thought I could manage getting up and down the stairs. Once I went Up to the room, saw how close the restroom and shower were to the room (After I had been told by Pam the day before that the room was "down the hall" from the room and was Very Concerned about personal Safety, due to the fact that I use the restroom several times a day/night) and felt Comfortable with it's proximity to the room, I decided to stay. Nick was Nicer to me once I decided to Honor the reservation ( especially because it clearly stated that if a change was to be made ie: possibly cancel it, it needed to be done a week before it had been scheduled for. The staff was Very Nice the next day before I left (for the day) and replaced the towels and tea which I asked for. Throughout the 5 days I stayed they were All Very kind and helpful. The fact that there is a great restaurant downstairs is a Bonus. I was Impressed with the Woodwork. Also I actually told several people in our wedding party that this place was VERY Quaint and that if they were amenable to the Accommodations, it would be a Great place to stay.

The owner was very funny. I didn't do any research before booking so was surprised when we discovered there was a shared shower and bathroom. It was like a warp in time for my kids. The room had a DVD player in the room (can borrow DVDS at front desk), quilts on the bed and the slowest wifi you have ever seen. Lol. It was a great experience overall in the room Northern Exposure, a show I used to watch on TV in the past. Great Thai restaurant nearby!!

United StatesWe had to share a bathroom and shower; however this of course made the room cheaper and the shared bathroom and shower were each in separate rooms and kept very clean.
Our room wasn't fancy, but it was clean and cozy. It included a small fridge, a microwave, and a drying rack. The beds were small but comfortable. The location was great - 2 min drive to Manzanita's main drag, 5 min drive to the beach. It was quiet.

United StatesThe Bunkhouse is a traditional small motel, owned and run by a family. It's not fancy, but everything important has been updated and is in good condition. We loved the simplicity and lack of annoying pretentiousness which is often found in newer / chain motels. The price was right for the area (Oregon coast).

United StatesStrangely the dishes and coffee are in the bathroom instead of the bedroom- didn't feel sanitary to me. If the coffee machine had been in the bedroom, I would have used it but didn't feel comfortable . I wasn't sure why not because tjere would be space for them there.
Location: right off the 101 in a town with good food, beach access, gas stations etc. It's great for tourists- not too rural. 30 min to cannon beach. Space: it's humble but clean and safe for the price . For one person, it was totally fine! I would stay there again.
