Real Bookers. Real stays. Real opinions.
Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United StatesThe trains going by every hour all night long. It felt more like a hostel but was pretty expensive for that kind of stay.
I liked the vibe and the step back in history to sleeping rooms and shared facilities. It was nice to be directly across from the river.

United StatesAnother great stay at the Burlington. We will continue to make this an annual trip and Im happy to have added family this year who are just as sold as I am. Jennifer is a wonderful host and the accommodations are prefect a comfortable group experience. She knows the area and makes great local recommendations for the stay and always entertains and ensures a good time at the on-site bar. We'll be back annually!

United StatesPerhaps more lighting in the stairwell when you enter from the first floor, and larger garbage cans in the bathrooms. Can quickly overflowed on my second night because there were more guests.
Very well maintained facility. Rooms were more spacious than I thought they'd be for an older hotel. Bed was very comfortable. You can't beat the view from the balcony on the second floor! Host was fantastic!!!

United StatesCute small-town hotel in a beautiful area of the state! Jennifer was an excellent hostess, we enjoyed chatting with her and the regulars in the bar downstairs after exploring during the day. The rooms were very clean and tidy, and there were many thoughtful amenities (keurig pods, a refrigerator, water bottles left in our room, plenty of extra shampoo and conditioner if we forgot anything).

United StatesJennifer was such a wonderful host! Running the Burlington Hotel is her hobby and you can tell she enjoys it. The hotel itself was like stepping back in time. We enjoyed sitting out on the upper porch across from the Mississippi River watching the sunset. The downstairs bar is comparable to going to an Irish Pub.

United StatesHonestly, not much! The room was a bit small, but it was not a problem, the bed was still comfy :)
The overall vibe of the property was very cozy and homey. Overall a quiet and comfortable stay. They even provided earplugs if the sound of trains bothers you, but you don’t need them, it’s very faint

United StatesWe would like to have parked off the main street, but handy spaces were available directly in front of the building. Front stairs were a bit challenging for me to maneuver, but I managed since we were out at a wedding during most of our stay.
No breakfast was provided, as expected. Was expecting lots of noise due to motorcycle traffic on Main St and nearby trains, but room was very quiet. Very comfortable; enjoyed my stay. Sharing bathrooms was not a problem. Interesting place to stay!

United StatesAll the trains! But that's just part of the town. It is very interesting and eye opening to see a little bit of how this beautiful nation of ours keeps everything moving with barges and trains!

United StatesI loved the beautifully restored railroad hotel. Rooms are small as advertised, but that's perfectly fine with me. Common kitchenette, TV room and bathroom met our needs and expectations. Really like the bar/lounge area. If I get to the area again I'd love to book the queen room with the exposed brick!
