Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United States of AmericaOur stay was great! I have NO complaints.
I love the location in Spanish town and close to the capital and a nice short drive to Tiger Stadium. After the football game, it was very easy to go down River Road and bypass all of the traffic waiting to get onto the interstate. (Hint- stay in left lane on River Road during contra-flow.) We arrived for our stay a little early; our suite on the first floor was ready. The house is absolutely beautiful, and it is tastefully decorated with antiques. The entire property is very clean and well-maintained. There’s parking on the street right in front of the house, and although the property is near 110, it is quiet and peaceful there. Our first floor suite was located off the living room- and we had a separate nice sitting room with chairs to use while watching television or relaxing. The bathroom is a small but functional space that had some toiletries available if we had needed anything. The shower had great pressure and the water got nice and hot as we like it. The suite’s sitting room has a door into the bedroom which contained a beautiful bed that had gorgeous and luxurious bedding. We met Michael, the owner, shortly after checking in (check in instructions were thorough and communicated through the booking app as well as by text message.) Michael verified our breakfast time for the next morning as we chatted. He and his wife, Nicole, made our stay feel like we were visiting friends. They are terrific hosts! When we awoke the following (Sunday) morning, the house was quiet and there was not a sound from the street. I went to the dining room to make our (K-cup) coffee and shortly after- Nicole started serving breakfast. We first had yogurt with granola and fresh berries and then she served scrambled eggs, grits, biscuits, and bacon. It was a great breakfast- and more than I could eat! We had a nice conversation with the owners and we checked out soon afterwards. Getting to I-10 from this location was easy and quick.

United States of AmericaWe liked everything!
Nicole and Michael were great hosts and did everything to make our stay wonderful! The house is located in the oldest part of Baton Rouge. We had a nice walk after we arrived to watch the beautiful houses and had dinner at Cecilia’s Bistro for some great local dishes. Nicole prepared a yummy breakfast for us in the morning!

My husband and I truly enjoyed our stay and getting to know Michael a bit. He couldn’t have been kinder or more accommodating with the misunderstanding about the parking. The on-site private parking was, in fact, street parking right out front but as we had a car full of goods, he let us use his driveway. The upstairs room was very comfortable where we slept well and the small bath was functional. There was a good variety of snacks and drinks available in the dining room and we had use of the living room. The breakfast was generous and delicious, well prepared by Michael. Unfortunately, Nicole was not feeling well so we didn’t get to meet her. We walked downtown to have dinner and on the way back we explored the quiet neighborhood and park. If we return to Baton Rouge we would definitely stay at the Cottages again.

United KingdomCottages at Capitol Hill is the perfect place to stay if you want the comfort and warmth of staying a family home. The bed was huge, the bathroom small but perfectly functional - it is like staying with lovely friends for a few days. Michael and Nicole could not have been more helpful and offered suggestions for dining and sightseeing as well as lovely chats about the area etc.., Nicole's breakfasts were excellent, plentiful but not excessive and there were snacks and drinks available around the home. You also have the advantage of being able to use the lovely sitting room which has fascinating books laid out for you to read. The area turned out to be a real treat - Spanish Town is the oldest neighbourhood in Baton Rouge, 4 blocks x 4 with beautiful houses and set near to Capitol Park itself. Baton Rouge can be a little quiet after hours as it is the state capitol full of government offices but Third Street had restaurants and we also found Cocha restaurant a few blocks away. We prefer to walk when we can so it was nice to be able to leave the car and walk into the city every day and not have to walk through any undesirable areas. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend to anyone to make this your number one choice in Baton Rouge. However, if you want all the facilities of an executive hotel, then go downtown. This is a family home which welcomes you with open arms

Loved the food, our room, and conversations! Michael and Nikki were great hosts! Always asking if we needed anything more. Gave us great places to go and check out that were in walking distance for us to see. There was snacks and drinks provided for us to grab. Love the history of the house! Can’t wait to come back next year for the game!

United States of AmericaThere really wasn't anything that I didn't like.
The location was great. We got to stroll through Spanish Town to enjoy the architecture and see the lovely home gardens. The proximity to the State Capital and nearby old Capital, the Mississippi River and museums was great. Nicole and Michael were very informative of history and very accommodating. I only wish we had more time to visit with them. Their breakfast, that came with the room was very good. I would be happy to recommend them and would go back if I'm ever in the area.

United States of AmericaThe wifi didn’t work for us, but Nicole set us up on hers.
Nicole and Michael were delightful hosts and made our stay very comfortable. Nicole fixed an excellent home cooked breakfast each morning and told us wonderful stories about Creole life and history. The location was perfect for walking to all the downtown attractions.
