The breakfast was OK but not great. Some of the hot items were not very tasty or did not look very appetizing. But there was a good selection

Clean and comfortable room. Nice old-world ambience. Lovely, spacious breakfast room. Luggage carts to facilitate loading and unloading cart. Helpful staff. The location is excellent for the price. We walked to the University area in about 20 minutes and took a Lyft back.

The tvs are old so I couldn’t stream anything on them. It would be great if they were updated since the channels available were limited.

The breakfast was good. There was plenty of food. The beds were very comfy! It was equivalent to a Marriott bed:)

While the theme of an English inn was quite nice, I felt a lot of the hotel seemed pretty outdated. It very much felt like a product of the 60s or 70s, perhaps a refurbishment is in order to be a bit more modern but keep the theming.

Breakfast was nice, staff was too. I liked the general theme of the location. I loved how modern the room was, very comfortable too. The location was also perfect for exploring the area, being no more than 10-15 minutes away from anything I would want to do.

Styrofoam packaging at breakfast and disposable cutlery not really classy, lowered feeling of breakfast too felt quite geriatric and really bad for environment.

Room immaculate, great facilities (pool and gym), friendly staff (free cookies in lobby) close to really good places to eat that are walkable. Room size was really good and quality of bed/bedding. Would recommend.

The room was clean and comfortable. The breakfast selections were excellent. Afternoon tea is a very nice touch. It is easily accessible to UVA and the downtown walking mall. The staff was very friendly.

The pillows were too large and uncomfortable for sleeping there was nothing else that we didn't like. All was above average, but not out of the ordinary.

The hotel was easy to access, the desk staff were slightly reserved and needed a little encouragement to become more friendly. We liked the accommodations ... the rooms were large and provided good space for our luggage and rest. It was nice to have breakfast served in the hotel.

Front desk was outstanding. Breakfast was good--but they serve on Styrofoam plates--really ruined the vibe. We missed tea--but how lovely. The décor in the lobby was unique and fun. Our room was very clean. Although the hotel could use a refurbish, I would hate to see it lose its unique charm. Location was excellent: right off the highway, and 10 minutes from town.

The rooms were pleasant and clean but could use an update. Looks like they did recently replaced some bathroom fixtures. The side we were on was nearest the main road which had some traffic that we could hear at night but it wasn’t terrible.

Clean and convenient to the highway and the U of Virginia campus. Only a few minutes from the historic downtown area with great restaurants. Amazing breakfast buffet with so many options. Tea, coffee and treats were set out near the fireplace in the lobby when we arrived. Very welcoming.Nice park and community garden behind the property for a quick walk. There was a very large indoor pool but no hot tub.

This is a well-run, low-key place that does the basics really well: rooms are generous, & well-equipped. The staff are helpful, knowledgeable and friendly. Their breakfast is served buffett-style and suits all tastes. It has an indoor swimming pool and the location is excellent - easy to access the key routes out of town, and close to the centre of UVA. If you don't want to spend a vast amount at a high-end place but baulk at staying at a chain hotel the English Inn is definitely the right choice.
