Each review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
Guidelines and Standards for Reviews

Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. no complaints.
Great location downtown, restaurant the Asylum is in same building and has great food and service. These rooms are alway impeccably clean, set up with extra touches such as the coffee and toiletries. The beds and pillows are super comfortable and the showers are first class, perfect after a long day.

Literally the only complaint was the pull out sofa. I don’t have high standards for pull outs at all because they are just known to not be comfy. The mattress was so thin that you could feel the bars under it.
So cute, super clean & very convenient to restaurants and shopping. We loved walking over to the Asylum for great live music.

It was a bit dark and could have used a reading lamp near the sofa. Also, it might be time to change out the mattress.
Loved location and ease of check-in. Room was complete with all of the usual amenities.

Limited parking. Some street Reno going on creating noise. No one greets you. You are sent a code to the property. No elevator.
The condo-like feel. No breakfast included but bowls, silverware , mini fridge, microwave and kurig coffee maker. Great bathroom - large counter. Very roomy.

Bed a little soft for us but duvet was comfy.

Pillows were very uncomfortable. First Friday in Lewisburg (which we were looking forward to) was a bust. Thought it would have been much better.

Light blanket as the bedspread is just to heavy and warm.
There was no breakfast served. Main complaint was the room was extremely small, at least the room we used.

The fan in the bathroom was quite noisy this time and may be in need of repair of some sort. It is incorporated with the light switch so there is no avoiding it.
The location is perfect for us and so easy to park and come in. We love when we can schedule an overnight here on our yearly road trip to the midwest; this was probably our fifth time booking here. I always wish we could stay an additional night and enjoy more of the town as it has some great little spots. We will have to plan a longer stay in the future. This is such a quiet, clean and comfortable place to stay in a quaint area.

The public/shared bathroom downstairs needed attention. No tp and had not been cleaned recently. We did not realize this was a second floor room and no elevator so large flight of steps was an unexpected hurdle for elder guest.
Location was close to Main Street but not ON Main Street. It was newly updated and our room was very clean.

Floors could have been cleaner otherwise everything was great.
Entry is via text for the door code, it´s right in town. Room was spacious and had a half kitchen (fridge, sink, dishes, etc). It was confortable and quiet. I´d stay again.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in every aspect. Neither my partner, nor I, could think of anything that didn't meet or exceed our expectation.
The Escape is located right downtown and walkable to everything. The Asylum restaurant is right next door and serves up nice eats (burgers/sandwiches/salads) and drinks (they also have a wonderful deck!) The room itself was clean and provided more than enough space for two.

The code for getting into the room was ok, but the door didn’t have a true deadbolt. I never at any point felt unsafe, but it would have made me feel better to know that someone couldn’t open my door. There was a chain lock, but just not the same as a deadbolt.
Loved the contact free check-in. Bathroom was very well finished and maintained. Generous selection of toiletries. Bed was super comfortable.
