Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.

By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomNothing. It was perfect for what we needed. If there was one thing it would be to start breakfast at 7 instead of 8 but that isn’t a complaint. We’re all just early risers.
The hotel was centrally located near Times Square in a lovely street called restaurant row. Close enough to all amenities but not noisy at night. The rooms were spotless and they were cleaned daily. The staff were so friendly and couldn’t do enough for us. Breakfast was perfect and kept us full till mid afternoon. The roof terrace was the icing on the cake. We sat up there and chilled after lots of walking.

United States of AmericaNothing worth noting for publication.
Location is easilly accessible via public transportation as well walkable to sites of interest to us. Staff friendly warm and helpful , "Reete" and young man who was on duty, we very much appreciated acknowledgement of our "special occasion " during our stay. Loved the rooftop terrace and the breakfast was sufficient and fresh juice with a newspaper is always appreciated. Defintely would stay here again.

GreeceDue to a 1pm departure and 11am checkout, we asked the hotel if it was possible to leave our luggage at the hotel for a few hours so that we could take a walk in the city center. The receptionist proposed to leave our luggage at the room and so we did. Prior to leaving the room, we left some items outside of the bags (e.g. our coats) and some valuable items (e.g. laptop) in the bags. However, when we got back from our walk to pick up our stuff at the agreed time (1pm), the staff had moved our luggage to a storage area in the ground floor, without access control. It was very frustrating as we were never told that after leaving our luggage in the room, moving it was a possibility. So, during moving and storing our stuff in the locker room, the safety of our belongings was not ensured, some entities were relocated (such as the coats that were placed by the staff inside our bags) etc. Breakfast was basic and of medium quality (for a 400dollar/night hotel).
The location was perfect, a few blocks from Times Square. The hotel, although small and hosted in an old building, is well maintained. We had a spacious room, a spacious and renovated bathroom and a nice city center view from the windows.

IrelandThere was nothing that we didn’t like. Congratulations to the family who own and run this special hotel.
We absolutely adored everything about this boutique hotel. From the moment we stepped inside the door we could sense the cleanliness. Both people we met at reception were fabulous. We were upgraded to the most amazing penthouse suite. I can’t wait to return to this hotel. The location is perfect- right beside Times Square, broadway and so much more. The breakfast was delicious with great variety. We had just booked one night and then left for a wedding in New Jersey. We were returning after the wedding and wanted to stay for the rest of our time in NYC but it was booked out.

United States of AmericaI would have liked a microwave.
They were nice enough to give us a free upgrade to a lovely suite. It was much more than I had been expecting with 2 bedrooms, a living room and a terrace. I was nervous about a hotel in this neighborhood because I remember Times Square in the 1970s as noisy, dirty and dangerous with aggressive prostitutes and pimps and many hotels catering to the prostitution industry. This was not what I found at the Hotel Sherman. It was clean. Our room was quiet, I could not hear noise from the street. Other guests were just regular travelers: families, couples, etc. The block was vibrant with restaurants and bars and music. I saw no prostitutes or pimps.

United States of AmericaSince the building was older the rooms didn't feel very private or intimate. We could hear everyone in the hallway due to the gap under the door and the hardwood floors throughout. So, no napping after my long flight. 😢 The hanging pillows on the bed seemed unsanitary. Since it took quite some effort to get them down. I doubt the staff washes them after each visitor.
Loved the older charm of the building and the location was convenient to Times Square and many Broadway theaters. The staff was very helpful and kind. The rooftop deck was beautiful and well maintained.

United States of AmericaIt is hard to find a reasonably priced hotel room in NYC that comfortably fits and sleeps 3 people. We were very happy with the size of the room with 2 queen beds. The breakfast is quite substantial. The staff is friendly and helpful. We enjoyed the location as well. All in all, it was an excellent hotel for our purposes.

DenmarkThe breakfast It was fine, but we expected American breakfast.
My wife and I, have together with two friends, spent 9 days at Hotel Scherman Hell's Kitchen, at Manhattan in May 2024 (346 West 46th street, New York – 10036). We had the Penthouse Suite with 2 Bedroom, 1 Bathroom and our own Terrace (Suite # 501). This was really a relaxing holiday, the hotel is close to everything, Fifth Avenue, Central Park, Theater District, Times Square, and all the thing you must see at Manhattan. The hotel is placed in a way, so you will find it as a quiet hotel even, when you are in the middle of the minefield. The hotel has a high hygienic standard, the staff will always meet you with a smile. We can warm recommend this hotel, if your destination is Manhattan, near everything. United KingdomRoom was smaller than we expected for a King room and alot of plumbing noise generally . Bathroom lights and fan noise were annoying as they both came on automatically if somone goes to the toilet in the middle of the night - extremely bright and noisy. Can't turn bedroom lights off at bedside - have to go the the room door to do that. Water wasn't very hot at any point in the shower.. Breakfast could be improved with some hot options, berries/better fruit and decent coffee. Final bit of feedback - the roof terrace is lovely and would be much more of a draw if there were a bar up there. Having said all of this it is all small points that did not impact our stay too much.
Good soundproofing- no traffic noise at all. comfortable large beds (pillows not great but ok). Large bathroom. When our TV remote stopped working it was fixed immediately. They kindly gave us a late check out of 12pm which was helpful. Amazing location. All in all it was a good stay and staff lovely just a few points that could be improved noted below.

Cleanliness, having a Keurig and half & half in the room, friendliness of the staff. Free water bottles in the room. Cool rooftop view. Beautiful Mezzanine area. Close to MSG, the NBA store, Grand Central Station.
