We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.

By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United StatesSome of the reviews I read made me hesitant to book the location, especially about the stairs being steep. I have knee and hip problems and it was not as bad as I thought it would be to go up and down the stairs. The only thing I didn't like was the sliding glass shower door, as it wasn't as accessible for those with disabilities. One of the dining chairs was wobbly, but the rest were fine. Other than that, our stay was very pleasant!
The house was in a beautiful, remote location and I appreciated all the signage to ensure I didn't go to someone else's house! I received a ton of notifications in different forms to make sure I was aware of the door code to enter. The house was well stocked, modern and cozy. To me, it was the best way to glamp!

United StatesUpon entry the place seemed clean and wonderful but the linens/comforter for the foldout couch were not washed had pet hair and people stains. And many of the dishes in the cupboard had to be washed before we could use them because they had old food stuck to them. It wasnt a big deal, just seemed like the cleaners didnt do the most thorough job. Our stay was still good, and i would book it again.
It was bigger than the pictures made it look and had a nice comfortable bed upstairs and spacious bedroom. Very quiet, serene spot but still close to town.

United StatesIt was tough to stay warm. We felt forced to keep the window blinds closed to conserve heat, so we lost the views of the lovely trees outside. Bedding, kitchen tools (except for the knife set), and linens were basic and functional.
Spacious, very quiet area, loved the setting amongst the trees, huge parking area, adorable Hideaway hanging sign, great set of knives in the kitchen, lots of storage space throughout, and very happy there was a dining table (in addition to the counter with stools and coffee table).

United StatesLocation was difficult to find at night. Need better signage, very hard to read in the dark. Bed was creaky but not too uncomfortable. Should provide a box of tissue in the bedroom. A few more hangers needed in the closet. TV remote didn't work well, unable to adjust volume. Fire alarm went off for no reason. Weird. Pillows were awful. Sorry..... Lint trap in dryer was full, fire hazard! Would have been nice to see some complementary coffee, and tea bags. Not sure I would have liked staying more than two days.
Interior was fine. Neat, clean, and organized. Good messages about things in the house. Box fan was helpful in bedroom. Good supplies, toiletrees, linens, and cleaning items. Easy to get to Langley. It was a cute, rustic little place that worked for our two day stay.

United StatesThese are more "things to note, as opposed to what we didn't like." This really is a location best for two people sharing the bed or two people with a smaller child. The upstairs room is good for two adults in the queen bed. Downstairs is a hideaway couch bed meant for another person; however, unless that person is a child, it's a very uncomfortable place to sleep. The kitchen had all of the basics and suited the price point but don't expect any extras like a kettle or coffee grinder. Again, well worth the price, and I am not complaining, only noting. It met all of my expectations.
We were seeking a small staycation place at the last minute, and The Hideaway offered the perfect package—a reasonable budget with the right location. The instructions were clear and worked perfectly. The place was clean and situated in a lovely location. It was peaceful and quiet our entire stay. The kitchen had all of the right accommodations. It has a TV where, if we wanted, we could connect our Netflix or Amazon accounts and watch shows. It is also very close to the town of Langley, so it was easy to drive over for a morning breakfast or pizza dinner.

United StatesThe upstairs bed is very noisy and uncomfortable when turning in the middle of the night. Didn't like that there wasn't a toilet & sink upstairs, but it was my fault for not vetting it better. The door key pad is intermittent and takes more than 3 attempts each time we had to re-enter the home. Homeowner needs to service key pad, buttons intermittent.
We loved the location and it being remote and quiet. House was very nice inside.

United StatesLayout is unusual with bedroom on second floor and bathroom on the first floor connected by an unconventional stairway. Electrical circuits would not support EV plug in and coffee pot at same time.

United StatesI think that if the parking lot is spacious and there is a fire pit on one side, I will be able to relax more leisurely after a day's schedule.
It was conveniently located close to downtown Langley and a nearby market. Of course, the kitchen was fully equipped, so I was able to cook a delicious breakfast.

United StatesNothing.
The place is very spacious and in a very woodsy area and just seven miles to Langley. It was peaceful and nice to wake up upstairs looking out at the woods. The kitchen has the essentials for cooking. There are nearby markets. Hj. Highly recommend.

United KingdomI've messaged Vacasa directly, including pictures. Over a week and no one has bothered to get back to me. Absolutely appalled by the seriousness of the matter and lack of care after they got my money.
Cute if only it was clean. Absolutely filthy. Mold on the shower, a nail sticking out from the skirting board in the bathroom. Cob webs in the lower part of the windows. The vacuum cleaner filled with dirt from previous tenants. Blankets that smelled, cushions covered in dog hair. Grease on the extractor fan. Filth on top of the fridge.

United StatesIt’s stated that “Sleeps 4 comfortably”. This is not accurate. It only sleeps two people comfortably in the bedroom upstairs. Downstairs there is a couch that extends one segment, but it’s very firm, consisting of several sections and uncomfortable for sleeping (it doesn’t have a mattress and the surface is irregular and too hard). It could be used for 2 young children weighing less than 70 lbs. anyone heavier than that would be very uncomfortable sleeping there.
The location was superb: very close to downtown Langley, but nested in the trees. Very quiet and beautiful location

United StatesEverything was great, only the knives and forks were not very clean. And there was no kettle yet, but I brought it with me, so I didn’t care)))) Yes, don't count on a big TV - it's tiny. Watching it from a sofa or chair, which is located against the opposite wall - a bit far away - is not very comfortable. But, I think that during vacation you should devote more time to other things and not to TV. In the evenings I really wanted an open fire, but there is no fireplace in the house, and there is no place for a fire outside the house. But the owners can understand - home safety is important.
My husband and I needed a nice getaway in a quiet location with our two dogs. This house was a great getaway for us over the Christmas holidays! We drove over 1,300 miles from sunny San Diego to Whidbey Island, and we are thrilled with our trip and vacation! The house is quite spacious and cozy. Magnificent spacious kitchen with everything you need! Large bathroom, spacious shower, the house is warm and, most importantly, completely quiet! There is a forest all around, neighboring houses can be seen through the trees, but there is still a feeling of complete privacy. The bedroom is impressive with panoramic windows and a skylight right above the bed! Sometimes at night the moon looked into it - so romantic! More than enough storage space, and two huge work tables with shelves and books. You can sit next to the huge windows and enjoy reading books in silence that you usually don’t have time to read. But you definitely need to see the whole island! It is very green, beautiful and cozy. We were especially impressed with the number of dog-friendly places to go! My husband and I were surprised at how many dog owners there are on such a small island! And it was especially unusual to meet people here, just like us, who had come with their dogs from afar to relax on Whidbey. Walks along endless beaches, along the Langley embankment, Greenbank Off-Leash Area Park - you can’t count it all! And of course the town of Langley - stunning, like a toy, with Christmas decorations - it's just a fairy tale! There are many wonderful shops, restaurants and cafes - you can spend six months here and not get tired of it! Special thanks to the testing room Ott & Hunter Wines for the great wines! Be sure to visit here! You will definitely like it!
