The only thing I didn’t like was the water seemed to turn a murky white color in the morning. I don’t know what was up with that, but everything else was great!

I loved how close the hotel was to everything! It was the best view of the fireworks on the 4th!

To get to the room you walk up a long flight of metal exterior stairs where you enter a bar then walk past a bar and through some doors, to your room. There is no person there to check you in. more like a airbnb.

The location is excellent and the room was very comfortable and nice but it is not really a hotel.

A few things went wrong for us with this stay however. The code that was provided to us for keyless entry was incorrect. There was no physical reception on-site. I messaged a couple of times to try and get the correct code - which was really frustrating and uncomfortable as we were stood in the busy lobby of the rooftop bar. Lots of people walking past, whilst we’re trying to figure out how to get into our room. No response. I ask the rooftop bar if I can use the phone behind the bar to call the number listed as the contact number. The rooftop bar (even though being called Imogene hotel and rooftop bar) has no connection to the hotel, and the hotel is seemingly operated by another hotel in the town. The guy behind the bar tells me that the line is really short on the phone and can’t be stretched beyond the bar. I said that’s okay, I can just come behind the bar and use it. The guy refuses (which is just about the craziest thing) so I have to ask a random guy in the bar if I can borrow his phone to call the number. (I couldn’t make calls because I have an international number). Guy politely lets me use his phone, the number on the email directs me to Hotel Ouray - they recognise the mistake and give me permission the correct entry code for our room. We’re in! I find it really terrible that they gave me the wrong entry code, and there’s nobody on-site the troubleshoot. Messaging through booking is basically useless because it takes them an insane amount of time to respond. But that’s not my only concern… The lobby being shared with a rooftop bar is pretty noisy, lots of footfall. The Imogene website says it’s open Fri-Sun - but that’s not right because it was open on weekdays. The coffee room was also a communal space that you need to exit your room to get tea, coffee, ice or drinking water. A bit annoying and there’s no mention of this in the booking. The bathroom is a wet room, which can be nice.

The room (lucky twenty) was really nice. Bed was comfortable, TV was an alright smart TV, air conditioning was good, and it was really nicely decorated. Really nice view from the two windows in the bedroom. Bathroom too was lovely - very visually cool and again was decorated really cleanly and modern, whilst still maintaining a classic feel. Coffee machine and tea/coffee selection was really good in the coffee room, and it was above a Thai restaurant (sounds like a negative but not - we got takeout and it was really good).

Couple things - there was a clanking (metal noise ) during the night - noticed it pretty late 1:30 - not sure what it was - other patrons also noticed it. Not sure what it was - they do have a metal sign out front - not sure if it was that? Also they need somthing in the book - that addresses the TV - what you can watch or can't watch?

Location was great - we were on the ground floor which made it a great home base for our crew, Ouray is such a walkable town, and it was nice to easily pop into our room for a rest or to drop things off. Parking was right in front of our door. And we had a bonus courtyard right outside our door. Perfect!

We loved our stay here. Location was perfect and the rooftop was amazing. Everyone who worked there was so kind.

Roof top was closed early so we missed being able to sit and look at the stars and mountains from the roof.

No roof access while we were there. No bartender was present until the last night but we were turning in for the night when we saw one.

Was there a breakfast?? The location was great. The communication before arrival was great as well. Would go back and stay again.

The bathroom has a shower and a tub, and the floor is level, so showering can be a little messy with water all over the floor. Maybe a squeegee would help? We were ok with not having a cleaning service every day but it would have been nice to have cleaning after two days. There is no fridge inside the room, although there is a shared one outside that you can use.

The location is perfect, close to everything. We really enjoyed the room, the view, the high ceilings, the tub and the overall design. The thermostat works really well and never experienced cold sensation in our room despite the winter outside. Communication with property managers was easy and fast.

It was very cold and the mini-split heater sounded like it was dying. The finishes were nice but also cold. I think the exterior door needs a new threshold so less cold air seeps across the slate floor. We put towels down to stop the draft.

Centrally located and easy to access anytime of the day. We didn’t have time to use the sauna but it was a very nice perk. The property was recently updated with beautiful and durable finishes.

Right downtown with amazing views of the mountains. The town's New Years Eve fireworks were world class. Looking forward to warm weather and celebrating food and drinks on the roof top.

For the price it would be nice if there was a water bottle filler in the lobby or water bottle in room on arrival. They had an in room Keurig but no water to make coffee.

Great location and view. Room was well appointed and very clean. Loved being able to open the windows. We stayed in the Elizabeth. Also enjoyed the rooftop bar. Would 100% stay there again.

The Durango to Silverton train is right outside the hotel. Very convenient back in the day. Not so much for guests who want a quick afternoon nap. Lol

Love the historical atmosphere. We’re on 2nd floor Deluxe King. It has Mountain View and all amenities. Service is great, pristine clean. Nice veranda too.
