Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United StatesWe stayed in cottage, and while room was perfect, walls were a bit thin and we could hear guest in the next room.

United StatesOur had a queen bed but it was the only room available at the time. It was a comfortable bed, just a little small for us. Next time we’ll get a room with a king.
Location to the beach, beautiful grounds, friendly staff, cleanliness, comfortable, quiet.

TurkeyThe room in The Cottage of the Four Seasons was delightfully decorated! But the small decor items need regular dusting or washing in addition to the general cleaning hotels usually do.
I like (and do better with) a firm mattress, but I was still comfortable. The water pressure in the shower was a little weak, but I don’t know how much people can control that because mine at home is also a tad weak.

The breakfast was wonderful and delicious. The staff were outstanding and even helped us with our dinner plans (the Red Arrow Roadhouse - we were happily surprised!)

United StatesBeautifully remodeled quiet old Inn, within a short walking distance to Lake Michigan Union Pier beach. Bill the owner, MaryAnn and Colin his staff were very welcoming, warm & friendly, with good local advice. Their cook deliciously met our dietary requests. Peaceful gardens around property with lots of options for seating areas to read or chat. Indoors many room have old Swedish restored "kokelovens" with working fireplaces. We love kids, but it's also a nice getaway, as no children under 12 are allowed. A couple good restaurants are within walking (the Red Arrow Roadhouse, yummy & lively, but crowded bar)or a short drive to Timothy's and others.

United StatesAbout the only thing we missed having was a TV. The B&B was beautiful and it was not essential, but we were staying here during the olympics so we had to go out to bars/restaurants to see events on a larger screen than our phones. But, the rest of the year this really wouldn't be an issue. Maybe one TV in the main area for certain events would be nice.
Amazing breakfast, extremely responsive and helpful hosts, beautiful room, patio, and surroundings! Plus the proximity to the beach was perfect! We loved our stay, it was so relaxing! Thank you.

United StatesCouldn’t use hot tub 10:30pm-8:30am but I understand it’s late and quiet hours so as not to disturb anyone. The key to the room and locking and unlocking it made it a bit noisy next to neighboring room. I hoped I didn’t disturb them.
Hot tub, Adirondack chairs, hammock, rockers, sitting areas around beautiful gardens and grassy yard, gourmet breakfast, wine ,cookies, & popcorn happy hour, comfy king bed and pillows, beautiful room, nice toiletries and facial tissue, huge 2nd floor wrap around balcony with nice zero gravity chairs and tables w/ chairs sets and other nice chairs to sit in and listen to the birds in the breezy treetops. Nice bikes to borrow, huge library of books, beautiful historic buildings, grand stairways, comfy rocking chair in room, fire pit available, and lovely, unique Swedish fireplaces all throughout the buildings, perfect for days and nights with a chill in the air, just across the street from Lake Michigan access. Easy parking. Nice, quiet lakeshore town.
