Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomWe loved everything! Our anxiety about the parking was completely unfounded as the staff took us through everything and made it easy. I honestly couldn’t speak more highly of the customer service!
The staff were exceptionally helpful - incredibly good to deal with and we really appreciated the ‘Welcome’ gift and suggestions of places to eat which we loved! The apartment/studio was incredibly well designed - gorgeous bathroom and all the fixtures and fittings were of top quality. We absolutely loved it!

United States of AmericaThe parking carousel was a pain. The payment site was down the first day, necessitating a call to provide payment info. Then we arrived in the pouring rain and the touch screen wasn't working on the carousel and the nice folks in front of us had to call to get it resolved so we could all park. There was also a snafu with the parking reservation on our third day that needed to be corrected.
The room was spotless, beds comfortable, and everything was very neat and modern. Wine and chocolate on arrival were a nice touch. Communication was clear from the staff via email and text. The place was very quiet at night while still being close enough to the action that it was only a short bus ride, drive, or longer walk to get to key attractions in Charleston. Everything was great except for the parking situation.

United States of AmericaReally great location, right off the highway for coming/going in a car but not noisy from the road at all. The area from the hotel over and down King Street is filled with cafes/restaurants, all of which are amazing. The room itself was comfortable, quiet, and a great value to have essentially a 1BR apartment during our stay! The staff was extremely helpful and very quick to respond to any needs over text and even helped ship some purchases we made back home!

United States of AmericaThe parking “thing” was way too complicated. I thought I had jumped through all the hoops, paid for it ,only to discover I still had to create an acct to be able get my car back. On the road, couldn’t access site, big pain. Kind staff refunded pymt & we parked normally nearby.
Wine and chocolate were a pleasant surprise. Great to have washer/dryer.

United States of AmericaCannot think of anything except that the living room TV remote control kept turning on the bedroom TV at the same time. I had to disconnect the bedroom TV power so as not interfere with someone sleeping in the bedroom while the living room TV was being used.
Very clean with terrific amenities. Everything provided and all of the appliances and equipment were first rate. The staff was exceptional especially Amanda who was tremendously helpful.

United States of AmericaWe chose the Iris as our hotel for our wedding weekend and it did not disappoint! We really enjoyed the parking carousel they have on site. It does take some practice but we had our car with us all the time, which is luxury in downtown Charleston. We also loved that the hotel entrance has a gate which requires an access code. This helped make it feel really safe. The rooms are spacious, clean, and it was really nice having a full size refrigerator, too! The Iris is a hidden gem and we would definitely stay again:)

United States of AmericaOne suitcase fit on floor in room and we put other suitcase against wall in kitchen. Too many pillows. We personally prefer blankets vs comforters but that is a minor issue.
Good location...easy walk to downtown areas. Very comfortable room, good shower. Nice surprise to have a bottle of wine and complete coffee along with a few other spices. Bed was comfortable but too many pillows. Parking is extremely limited and we didn't walk to use their car carousel so we used a nearby public parking garage. Staff was very responsive. Extremely clean. Easy walk to restaurants...don't miss the Tapas place 1/2 block away!

United States of AmericaMy new favorite place to stay in Charleston! Charleston is a city where you are spoiled for choice - there are so many great options for food, bars, shopping, and places to stay. I am so happy we chose The Iris this trip! The suites are more like apartments, with everything you would want for a short or longer stay. The amenities are all luxurious - queen bed with comfortable bedding and lots of great pillows. Huge bathroom, and the makeup towels were a nice touch. Nice seating area outside, and the seating inside was really comfortable and lots of choices. Two things I loved and didn't expect? The white noise machine - so awesome!! - and the car carousel! What a fantastic idea! Loved having a code not a key. Staff was wonderful - great communication at all stages, and they were so friendly and accommodating. Nice quiet street with coffee shops and restaurants nearby. Would love to stay at The Iris again!
