Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United States of AmericaThe front desk staff wasn't quite as friendly as usual but still helpful. The street noise can be quite loud ( not the hotels fault).
Love the ambiance of this hotel. I've stayed here several times and it's always pleasant and clean. The breakfast is always phenomenal and no other hotel compares. The attendants are so friendly. It's just a cozy hotel.

Every member of the staff was wonderful. Our room was comfortable and quiet, even though our windows faced Broughton Street. The hotel was beautiful and very clean. The breakfasts were delicious. The nightly wine and cheese hours with entertainment were terrific. We liked the fact that there was always complimentary cold bottles of water and a coffee and tea station in the lobby. We loved the fact that there were historical drawings, photos and artifacts affixed to the walls throughout the hotel, with the option to take a self-guided tour by scanning a QR code for the exhibits.

United States of AmericaWe were placed in a small room on 2nd floor, down and around a hallway beyond a Housekeeping closet. Quite noisy. Bed was uncomfortable - got little to no sleep the entire stay. (No street noise, though, and we were facing Broughton, so that was good!) The air conditioning unit is LOUD and kept us awake. I like the look of the bathroom but a pedestal sink leaves no room for your toiletries - all we had was a 4” deep ledge above the sink and they stored their tissue box and tray in it - difficult to maneuver to get ready. We had a running joke about an almond I found in the floor at the bedside desk the first night - it stayed there the whole trip so no one is vacuuming or sweeping during or between stays. Cost of valet parking is $38/night plus tipping every time they bring the car or park it - yikes. I did try to research self parking before our trip but couldn’t find info on where and how much the garages were, so we went with valet since this was our first trip to Savannah. Of course, once there we see that a garage is within sight of the hotel. Breakfast is included but is typical hotel continental breakfast (hot items and cold) gets old when you’re there for a few days. You can’t serve yourself - have to fill out a paper of what you want (still using Covid practices) and they bring it to you. Would I stay there again? Maybe, because of the location.
The location couldn’t be better. Surrounded by restaurants and shopping, short walk to City Market and Riverwalk. I like the idea of staying in a historical bldg, and I would’ve loved to hear the history of it. Saw tour groups stopping and talking about it across the street but no info was offered to the actual guests of the hotel, which I thought was odd! Guest services is great and so helpful.

United States of AmericaThe free breakfast was below par. The service was very uneven and the menu options very limited. The food for breakfast was below average. A complete difference for the main restaurant. They could do better on this, but it was included in the price.
The rooms were charming and very roomy, but I had a king room. The hotel itself was Great. Historic, as the oldest hotel in Savannah, made it like you are living in history. Bistro 45 was excellent. great food and service. But The Staff made my stay memorable. All were terrific. I felt my original room on the balcony was too loud and they moved me to a quieter room, n0 problem. I recommend this hotel for a unique historical experience in Savannah. You can't beat the location, too. Walking distance to everything. i never used a car and walked to all the attractions.
