United StatesThe lock on my door broke and I could not get into my room after I went downstairs to get dinner. I tried to get the door open with my key, and then I had to have management try. Long story short, it took about 15-20 minutes for them to be able to get the door to my room open. By that time, my take-out was cold.
If you have business at the Wapello County Courthouse, there is no closer hotel.

United StatesThere were no blankets on the bed and they double charged me for the room and made me wait for the charges to fall of instead of refunding me. They also charged 2 deposits when we extended our stay. Won't likely be staying there again

United Statessome of the room items needed attention. The commode had cracks in the lid. The plug in for the radio by the bed needs to be moved from behind the mattress. I felt this was a fire hazard. Cable wire for the tv needed to be cleaned up. And when I turned on the tv I had to find the settings to get to the right input to watch tv. But I was impressed with the hotel considering the age. Looks likes staff is trying real hard and I would commend them for there effort. My dad owned hotels and I have worked at some of them. So for me growing up the the hotel business I was impressed but for the few items I found.
Food was good quality and at a fair price.

United StatesLocation downtown OTTUMWA Great, Staff Great, Building has lots of potential, but smoking, carpets need to be cleaned at least a good 4 times carpet extracted or completely changed out, beds were decent, lights extremely dim, an odd ordor through out the entire hotel, musty moving towards moldy smell. Like I said, investment for renovations, upgrade the old dive bar on first floor, make it a MODERN dive bar, maybe ax throwing or newer sports bar type. Attract young people there, seems like it's more of a seniors bingo with liquor place, smoking
