Ambience of the place is great. There is a free Laguna shuttle stop right outside the hotel. Location is good, not exactly in downtown Laguna but not very far either.

The coastal canyon setting was beautiful. The ocean breeze rustles the leaves and birdsong fills the air. The spa was relaxing and luxurious. The rocking chairs on the patio are a nice spot to savor an afternoon cocktail. Harvest restaurant had delicious food and attentive service. Staff was friendly, and the snack shack had tasty grab and go goodies. The room was nicely appointed and clean, with a comfortable bed.

We had made dinner reservations in advance requesting a round table and confirmed with numerous phone calls that yes that would be fine. Incorrect information was given on numerous calls to us.

The rooms were very nice and clean. We enjoyed the outside dining and fire pit one night. Staff very friendly. We stayed there in December and that’s why we came back to stay when we visit family.

The overall feel of the property which was more of a golfing camp/lodge and was not what I was envisioning for the price point. The road to get to the ranch and the 'walkway' to the public beach leave more to be desired from a over $1000/night. The appearance of the cabins are again lacking for the price point. The website description of the multiple dining options is misleading, as there is really only two accessible options - grab and go, and Harvest. The staff were less helpful, having to ask for basic requests more than 4 times (e.g., extra blanket in the room).

The pool area, spa and service at the pool bar were great. Harvest restaurant was a good experience as well.

i was not aware of the 200 a night extra incidentals I had to go back in fort 3 times . upon arriving they charge 1,083 I wasn’t aware of the 400 extra so we had to go to the bank it was 9pm , she mention she will only charge 830 but ones we got to the place she said never mind I have to charge 1,083 so ones again we left to the bank . we had spent our day at Disneyland so getting to the hotel we weren’t expecting yo go back in fort 3 times we were very tired it was just unfortunate

The buildings have clearly been adapted from something else -- a school? A camp ground? Who can tell -- and are nothing luxurious. This is not a 5-star property, but they charge 5-star rates. We had ants all over our room, including on the bedding, the counters, and in the shower and sinks, and when I complained I was told "Oh yes, lots of people complain about that". Okay?! There were fleas in the room, and my parter and I both left with several painful bites on our lower legs. Again, when I told the front desk, they were unsympathetic. The patio bar closed at 8pm, so there was nothing to do in the resort in the evening. The restaurant opens at 7am, but they are not ready to serve customers at that time. There is no cell service, but they do provide free Wi-Fi. Overall we expected a resort-style stay, and that is not what we got. It's a reasonable hotel if they didn't charge so much -- we're happy to spend the money for a luxury experience, but this time we wished we'd booked elsewhere.

The location was nice, close to laguna beach, and a short walk from the Montage resort and its beach and park. The food in the restaurant was excellent and staff were mostly friendly. The spa was amazing with great staff.
