I love the style of the building and they did a great job of keeping the building looking like it’s from the time it was built in! It was conveniently located close to the 5 Flags Center along with a short walk to the Dubuque Farmers Market too.

We love staying here for the history and ambiance. Each room is unique and authentically furnished. The owners/operators (Robert and Kate) are very accommodating and friendly. The breakfasts are very good!

The place has seen better days. It’s shappy and dilapidated. There is some Victorian charm. But ultimately you are sleeping cheap and experiencing compromise with deterioration of the facility and economizing policies to keep the business generating some revenue and barely scraping by. Won’t return-too weird and demoralizing.

We were charged an additional fee of 3 percent for using a credit card which was not disclosed until check in. Also our room was on the 3rd floor so lots of stairs. The refrigerator was not turned on which we did not realize and this resulted in spoiled food.

The hotel is historic and close to town. Staff was friendly and room.very comfortable.

We liked everything!

Can’t appreciate this hotel enough! It’s like walking into a Victorian mansion & sraying there! Wonderful host, good breakfast, beautiful room! We really enjoyed our stay!

The communication from Robert before and during our stay was excellent. The mansion is a very neat place! Meals were great, room was clean, bed was great! Would definitely recommend it!

room was charming and fit the time period of the house. Beautiful interior throughout the building. Only a block away from the Five Flag Center, easy parking. Owners were very nice and accommodating. Breakfast included a breakfast dish of egg and ham that isn't offered at other continental breakfasts. Will book there again

Absolutely nothing!

The room, breakfast and staff were just exceptional! I cannot say enough about how wonderful our stay was. The temperature of the room was fantastic, the bed was so comfortable. Robert was so attentive, kind, and fun to talk with. He made all of his guests feel so welcome at breakfast and went out of his way to see breakfast was perfect and everyone was satisfied with their meal. The food was fantastic! The egg dish, fresh fruit and cranberry bread were amazing as was the coffee which was attentively topped off many times! Thank you Robert and Kate! We will be back and will highly recommend your beautiful, historic bed and breakfast.

Everything was perfect.

Fabulous old mansion , clean and very quiet.Perfect central location with an incredibly delicious breakfast.Lovely inn keeper Robert made it a special stay.Galena is about 20 minutes away.

We had never been to Dubuque, and, had never been to a bed and breakfast. Our anniversary was coming around, so we thought this would make a great weekend trip; true enough! Robert is a great host! We hope to come back that way again. Breakfast was delicious, the conversations among people were lively, and the location is pretty great. Thank you, Robert! Thank you, Dubuque!

Electrical was goofy but that was made known from the beginning. Didn't feel unsafe or anything just had to think about what we could and couldn't run at the same time to prevent popping a fuse or breaker. Would be the same in any other building that old.

Robert was a great host. Bed was comfy. Jet tub was huge. Breakfast was good. It's an awesome place to visit and see. We left relaxed and happy.

A microwave would have been nice.

The host Robert was very friendly, funny and helpful. Showed us everything we needed to know about the room. Bed was very comfortable. Robert went out of his way to mail us a pair of glasses that we left behind. Wow!
