Kodiak has indeed experienced an exceptionally harsh weather pattern, with the coldest and rainiest start to May and June in our recorded history. Such severe weather can certainly impact the initial impression of our surroundings. Believe me we love to mow our lawns and plant our pretty flowers and have to suffer through long winters and no springs. As you also noticed, we are excited to be enhancing our facilities with substantial upgrades, including installing additional washers and dryers to accommodate our guests better. This upgrade required some temporary rearrangements and construction, which, while momentarily inconvenient, are aimed at providing long-term improvements. We're also updating our hallway with a fresh paint job and modern lighting to enhance the overall ambiance and guest experience. Although these improvements were evident during your stay, I understand they might have impacted your experience. I'm glad to hear that our communications were pleasant and helpful. We strive to ensure all our guests feel supported and well-informed. We are committed to providing an exceptional stay and appreciate your understanding as we continue to improve our property. Unhinged is the word that comes to mind. . This review is retaliatory from a guest who was, the day before, issued a "No Trespass Order" by the Kodiak Police Department after unlawfully entering another one of my properties by impersonating a friend to gain access. That serious breach left my other guests deeply unsettled and required immediate law enforcement involvement to forcibly remove this lady from the property she broke into.. through a sliding door and a property that was never booked by her. Despite this, she went on to book another unit. I alerted the platform to prevent the stay, but was unfortunately unable to intervene. During that reservation, the guest violated many policies in retaliation, especially our no-smoking policy, which not only breached the rental agreement but also deeply disturbed my upstairs long-term tenant—who ultimately moved out because of it. She then attempted an illegitimate chargeback, which she lost. For context: The unit is professionally cleaned and inspected before every stay. The property’s description, amenities, and policies are clearly disclosed in advance. We take both guest experience and community impact seriously, and have consistently maintained a record of five-star service by respectful guests. This review is not about cleanliness or service—it’s retaliation for being held accountable for repeated violations. I stand by our standards and will continue protecting our guests, staff, and properties from this type of conduct

Regarding the "don't judge a book by its cover" comment, we're glad you brought this up as it gives us a chance to clarify. We're committed to maintaining our property at its best, and we've recently (and continuously) completed an extensive upkeep, including a fresh paint job, to ensure our building's appearance is in top shape. We take exceptional care in all aspects, to make sure our guests have a great stay. We plant flowers, have an outdoor bistro table & chairs, sunset-viewing bench, and guest grill which reflects the efforts we put into creating a welcoming atmosphere. The recent rainy summer has indeed posed challenges in lawn maintenance, and we sincerely apologize for any inconvenience or appearance this may have caused. Rest assured, we're actively addressing this issue to ensure our property remains well-kept even amidst adverse weather conditions.
