Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United StatesMy husband and I are in our 70's and the bed we had was so low to the floor and close to the wall it was difficult getting in and out of. The only chair in the room was also low to the floor and sloped backward making it awkward to get out of. The hallways were not lit very well at night. For two people the room was too small. Definitely a hotel for younger people.
the location was very good three blocks from Comerica Park and the People Mover was right across the street. There were excellent eating places within walking distance. The coffee shop in the hotel was very good, and the pastries were great.

United StatesWish the bed was comfier, the hallways were wide enough for more than one lane of walking, the rooms and motif are great but the room should have usb and usbc plugs in the walls lamps or table. Every updated hotel I’ve been too in the last 5 years has those and we had to go to the convenience store to get a charging block and bottled water because the cafe was closed.
We loved the location the ability to walk to all of our favorite spots (The Lip Bar, Fixins, Savage x Fenty)and try some new ones. We loved how friendly the staff were and the amenities offered in the hotel. Also enjoyed the retro aesthetic and the large shower robes and towels.

United StatesNo food, and no drinks served in the garden or street tables. Difficult to maneuver area if driving.Only valet parking by separate company but it worked out ok -- not much extra space in this historic area for luxury such as parking. Near Tiger Baseball park and Opera House.
very boutique. Uniquely refurbished old, narrow high tall building. 1.5 ton Italian chandelier brought from French villa over the wine bar.

United StatesI have no bads. The last time we stayed they were in transition from one of the in house restaurants, so it was closed - but it didn't really matter.
The aestetic here is art-deco amazing. The theme carries into the rooms with thoughtful mini-bars containing pre-made cocktails and snacks with local companies. The coffee shop in the lobby serves Onyx - one of the best coffee roasters in the US and winners of many awards. (This may be the only place to get this coffee in Detroit). The front desk attendee is witty and seems to love his job. Both visits, chatting with him or just getting checked in were definite highlights. There is so much to do including the built in bars, next-door record store, and Sids Gold karaoke room - all in the same building. I have yet to use the barber shop, but it looks great. In addition to the in-building libations and entertainment, the location is central to almost everything downtown you'd want to see, and the Q line is near for things a little further than walking. This is also one of the most affordable places to stay in the city. Absolutely worth the money.

United StatesThere is not a mini fridge. Our room had an ‘old building’ smell, which was no issue for us and was easily forgotten about. It just stuck out to us when we first entered.
This Hotel was styled/decorated so well. Everything from the soap dispensers to the bed spread eloquently matched ‘The Siren’ theme. The room was unique and spacious. They even provided robes with the hotel name embroidered on it. Every aspect of the building was aesthetically pleasing and was great for photo ops.

United StatesThis is not so much "didn't like" but for awareness. Rooms are definitely cozy (think charming vintage rather than spacious suite). No fridge, so say goodbye to your late-night leftovers or drinks. Parking’s pricey and leisurely—expect to wait. And if you're hoping to sneak out quietly, good luck! The valet's vibe is pretty chill—found him comfortably nestled in his car, catching up on YouTube. Plan accordingly.
Staying at The Siren was like stepping into Detroit’s coolest vintage thrift shop—eclectic style, guests ranging from hipsters to hedge-funders peacefully coexisting by day and night. Exceptional hotel bars (because drinking responsibly means never leaving your lobby), and legit coffee in the lobby. Location? Ideal for downtown. Highly recommend if your vibe is stylish, caffeinated, and mildly buzzed.
