Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

I love Thunderbird. Only complaint is the descriptions never line up when booking through booking.com some listings says pet free, pet $10, then apon arrival it’s a $50 pet fee.

United States of AmericaNo TV (but they tell you that, so…) grossly overpriced for what it is.
Eclectic older motel. Nice central courtyard around the pool. Wonderful desert landscaping.

The outside courtyard was filled with desert plants, very well maintained . The room was very cute, and just what we needed.

United States of AmericaDon’t go to Marfa on a Tuesday, pretty much everything is closed including restaurants. Also, on any given day, you likely need a reservation to view the galleries.

United States of AmericaThe bathroom was a bit dated but I think that’s the style they are going for! Would have preferred doors that don’t automatically lock when you leave.
Location was great - super walkable to all other parts of town (it’s very small!) and the place was cute. Pool was freezing but a great bonus as well!

United States of AmericaI always prefer it when there is staff available 24 hours. That was not the case here.
Very nice facility. Room was somewhat spartan but consistent with the overall "vibe" of Marfa.

United States of AmericaNote, although it did not bother us, there is no TV in the room. The floors are concrete and a bit chilly in the winter. The bed barely fits so one of us had to sidle along the wall to get out. There is only one hard key - don't lose it!!
It is a funky hotel. Clean, but small. It is in Marfa, so that says it all. But it is not in the "downtown" area, but walking distance to a DQ. In the summer it would be nice to use the nice courtyard. Good coffee - pour over Chemex pot.

United States of AmericaWhen traveling to a small town in the middle of nowhere, we did not expect much. This hotel was one of the cutest most eclectic and well thought out hotels I have been too. It had a cute vintage mini fridge, a heated bathroom(right above the toilet), and perfect walking distance from stops in the city. When I come back I will absolutely be staying at this hotel.

AustraliaEverything was great, although I would recommend a rug just next to the bed. That would make it super cosy as the concrete floors are a little harsh.

United States of AmericaThe rooms are in need of repair. Our window leaked, the shower faucet was broken, and the sink faucet was leaking uncontrollably and wasting an annoying amount of water in an area where there isn't water to spare. The wall-mounted AC unit desperately needed to be cleaned and had me sneezing the entire time so I assume it had mold in it. The property needs basic maintenance and the lack of it really detracted from our stay. We won't return here on the next trip to Marfa. As other reviewers have noted, there's no TV which didn't bother us but might be an issue for others.
The hotel is a cute concept in theory. Some roadside motel remodels are really well done and, unfortunately, this seemed like a "do the least amount possible" situation as far as the actual rooms went. The location is great and convenient in Marfa and the interior courtyard area was nicely landscaped. We liked that you could rent bikes on-site to take around town and they had a food truck operating for breakfast and dinner burritos. The Los Poblanos toiletries were a nice touch, too.
