How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Verified reviewWe did not stay in this hotel as we found different lodging in Toccoa. While the staff was pleasant and informative, the room should not be advertised on Booking.com. The light for the bathroom was behind the door so you had to walk into a dark room and reach behind the door to turn it on. The sink was held up by a pole, making it dangerous to use. Although the AC was supposed to be the best in the motel, it was less than adequate. The room was dark and dingy at best and smelled like cleaning solvent.

The front desk check in person didn't speak English so we checked in over a video chat. There were drug addicts everywhere. We were woken up at 5am by 2 of them arguing outside our room. There was mold in the bathroom. The "clean" towels had stains on them. The bed was uncomfortable. The handrail in the bathroom was literally falling off the wall. The roof in the bathroom was leaking. The room didn't appear to have been swept and definitely wasn't mopped. The lightbulbs had been colored on with markers.

Verified reviewAbsolutely nothing to like about this Motel. The phone # that Booking.com published, no one ever answered when I tried to call. The Office attendant when told of calling issues never offered up an answer. The pictures of the room and motel ARE NOT ACCURATE. The entire experience was disgusting. once the room was paid and I went back to express the dissatisfaction the Office attendant would not answer the office buzzer, basically stole my room purchase from me, I had to seek out other accommodations.
TEAR IT DOWN and rebuild it. The room had a noxious stench and was full of sewer flies on the walls and bed, the fridge was not working. when the bed linen was pulled back the sheets had hair and other debris along with stains. I returned to the office and the attendant would not come to the door di inspect what condition the room was in. I did not stay here. it is a health hazard.

Verified reviewThe place was dirty,the wash cloths were black when they got wet,dingy bad, the a/c unit wasn't fastened to the wall just sitting in the hole, there was a Crack all around d the door about an inch wide, there were no lamps if you wanted light you get up and go turn on the overhead, no coffee pot nothing but a fridge and microwave. No place in the shower to put a towel or soap. No soap dish no towel rack except on the far wall from the shower. It stunk. The A/C was either on or off no in between. . It was awful. I was tired,sleepy and had already paid so what do you do? Want go back.

They was very rude came in my room when I was not there and went through my things. When I said I was leaving they made me pay 200$ more to get my stuff out of the room. I asked for my money back they wouldn't give it and I paid 518.35 for a room I didn't stay in oh no sorry forgot the other 200$ I had to pay too. So 700$ for a room I could not stay in these people come here for free and get money for free and to do us wrong. They are nasty the room had bugs they are not clean and a lot of drugs around there.

Towels were threadbare, lighting was dim and sparse, no lamps, no outlets around the vanity for doing my hair, and no closet rods to hang clothes on. The fridge was barely cold on the max setting, and it was not clean. The train goes by about 4 times during the night, blowing a whistle every time. All outside traffic could be heard through the a/c unit, and there was a lot of traffic throughout the night. The location appears to be in a less than desirable part of town.

Verified reviewThere was no breakfast. The mattress was ok. The manager and the maintenance man were great. They were as accommodating as they could be with nothing to work with. The shower worked. The location for the reason I was there was perfect.
One dim overhead light in the room. No light over the bathroom mirror. Holes in the walls that need to be painted. No place to hang clothes. Used the shower curtain rod to hang clothes. No chair in the room. No bedside table lamps. Dresser drawers had no handles and drawers fell off the rail when they were opened. No clock radio. The door lock didn't work when I got there, had to call manager every time I wanted in. No cup or glass provided, had to get one from McDonalds.
