We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):

United StatesWe had some hiccups trying to exit the parking garage using our room key, but the support staff worked quickly to resolve it and open the gate for us.
King suite just right to give the three of us (myself, my husband, my college-age daughter) enough space to stretch out and relax. Loved having the fridge and freezer as well - sofa bed ready to make up with the provided linen pack. Good breakfast and perfect location for easy access to campus - so helpful during this college visit for registration!

South KoreaDuring my 9-night stay, the room was cleaned only twice, and even the towels were not replaced unless I repeatedly requested them at the front desk. The meals were below expectations, and for the last three days, about a third of the dishes (warm food) were missing. It seemed to be due to the Christmas holiday, but from the customer's perspective, it felt like the hotel was indifferent to the decline in service quality.
The hotel is conveniently located near supermarkets and restaurants. Although the parking fee seemed high, the ample parking space made it convenient. While room cleaning was rarely done, the front desk staff were responsive and replaced towels and emptied trash late at night whenever requested.

United StatesHotel was a complete disgrace. Upon checking in, I had to immediately request a new room since the room they tried to give me stunk horribly like cigarettes and old socks. The new room was dirty, especially in the bathroom. Mildew/ mold around the shower valve. Crusty dirty shower head, filthy in the corner of the tub with orangey mildew and random hairs on the wall. Shower door had a cracked corner guard of sharp plastic exposed. Rusty shower hinges, Disgusting ceiling had exposed dangling/peeling paint at least a 3ft section. Bathroom faucet had crust under the handle. Tried to explore other parts of the hotel to take my mind off of my filthy room, but the POOL WAS CLOSED! No notification at booking whatsoever and that was a major reason we booked this hotel. So irritating and irresponsible to not let customers know that up front. And by the looks of the paper sign on the door it had been there a good long while so Marriott gets an F for Maintenance as well as cleanliness. Decided to burn off some frustration in the gym, where there was NO WATER IN THE WATER COOLER AND NO SANITIZER. Blanket was so old the fibers looked more like leather. I had to call my spouse who was on the way from St Louis with our child and tell them to turn around and stay home since they would have been equally miserable. This place was a dump! For $332 per night?? In Middle Illinois?? I don't think so.
