Im an early riser and could not find coffee at 6:30 am as I didnt want to wake up people in the room nor was they gym open, that's it that's my quibble. is it pricey compared to a hotel? Sure...but. as I said It is a resort so well worth it if you are willing to indulge in all the offerings..

Thing to remember is this is a resort with a european feel, not just a hotel to lay your head down for the night. If you are looking for a just a clean bed and continental breakfast this may not be your cup of tea. The facility is big, yet has a coziness to it. We loved the multiple small gathering rooms and nooks spread about the building with shelves filed with books, board games and puzzles. The property is huge, plenty of places to wander but also lots of hosted happenings. Loved the beer hall...they do a maple themed beer every year and it is very good. Staff is exceptional. they all seem to love working there. Highly recommend as a get away place.

They were right when they said they bring a little bit of Austria to Vermont they were right. The hotel and grounds were exceptionally clean. The staff was always welcoming when you arrived at the hotel, and the food at the Kaffehaus and the Main Dining Room was awesome.

The pool was closed. To be fair this was due to unforseen issues.

    Love the location.

The first room we were in had to be changed. Went outside on the deck and there were cigarettes butts on the deck and wires on the railing. They changed our room without a problem. The breakfast buffet was marginal and overpriced.

The dining options were limited when our tours ended at 2pm. Everyone was very friendly except the dining room and lounge staff. We had the last reservation of the night and our waiter really wanted us to hurry up and leave. The food was good but overcooked. We were disappointed about the lack of snow but that was true for all of Vermont.

The room was spacious and the bed was very comfortable. We loved the view outside and the fact that our 4th floor room, built into the hill was ground level with a patio in the back. We specifically came to stay at the von Trapp Family Lodge and we look forward to a return visit. We loved the cookies and tea and the tours!

Modern interior with no rustic or old world charm. It might as well have been a best western in regards to the lobby, and common areas. I anticipated dark wood, antique rustic old world charm, but it was generic and also dated with ugly carpeting and wall colors The food was very mediocre for the price. Fitness center, pool hot tub was ACROSS the street. Not convenient at all to access. Was always crowded never available to us. Too many kids around despite going midweek and not during recess! The snowshoe trail to the slayton pastry cabin was amazing and beautiful. By far the highlight of our trip.

The views , the location, friendly staff, comfortable beds, large room, onsite snowshoe and xc trails.

Wish we had more time to swim, snow shoe, make a snow man, etc on the grounds... The room needed a little repair in the drywall of the bathroom. I would have liked more room cleaning such as replacing the glasses each day. One in my party had a cold so I wanted to make sure we did not accidentally drink from that glass or that she got sick again as the cold passed.

I love the buffet breakfast. I feel like I am in Europe. The blueberry muffins were particularly good. In the evening, we loved the piano music in the dinning room. I loved the decor of the room. The beds were comfortable. You can request a viewing of the Sound of Music or watch at 7pm on Thursdays. With tired 6 and 8 year old, we needed an earlier viewing of this much loved movie. The staff was accommodating.

For the price you paid you would expect more things but they offer little, most of the activities and food are paid separately. There is no free breakfast or at least some coffee in reception. There is also no microwave on the room.

Staff was amazing, the property facilities are beautiful, great food and really family friendly.

    Nothing to dislike.

Beautiful rustic lodge, very large and well maintained. Excellent food and staff very friendly. Great views and amenities. Loved that there was a shuttle service to get to Bierhall restaurant. Perfect place for a relaxing time away, only a short drive to the town of Stowe and the ski slopes. Will definitely return and recommend to all.
