Had to move rooms immediately due to cracked toilet seat. In the Second room, the shower glass door was coming off the hinges and the blackout shade was broken. Maint guy, Cal spent over an hour trying to fix the shower door and shade. The shade was repaired but the shower door is ready to come off.

We weren’t able to use the pool since we left to visit family after check in, I wish they opened it sooner so we could’ve jumped in before check out so that was a disappointment.

Hotel is kind of minimalist. Also, the air conditioner sounded like it was ready for take off. I was also charged $4 for parking for some reason.

There was a mini fridge which I wasn’t expecting. I had bought ice cream to have during my stay. I attempted to put it in an ice bucket in the mini fridge. That didn’t work. I expected to have a fridge with the little freezer compartment. The window in the room is great except there was a sheer curtain and that seemed to be it. Morning sun in our face sucked.

It’s pretty modern. The little snack shop is great. The breakfast is a bit different from the usual. Seemed more kid friendly. Games in the lobby like foosball and connect four. As well as a pool table. And coffee ready for you in the lobby.

Needs more parking, we had to park in the parking lot next door one night. Walls were very thin and you could hear the people in the room next door very easily.

When I first looked up the property on line it said they had a bar…that was not the case I enjoy a glass of wine before I retire and that was not an option . A coffee pot in the room would also be nice

We were on first floor near lobby and you could hear everything from lobby and you could also hear everything from people in the room right above us. Kept me up late. Even heard someone’s phone alarm next morning at 5am and I was not getting up for another couple of hours. Also did not like that there was no carpet or even a rug in room.

I stayed here on two separate nights of a road trip, and it was clear that if any major event is happening at Texas Tech, you will pay extra for a room anywhere in Lubbock. We paid nearly 50% more on one night of our trip for the same type of room between the two one-night stays we had here, but Tru was still a better option than most.

If you've stayed at a Tru anywhere, you know what you're getting when staying here (a pretty standard, barebones, business class hotel experience). This location is a few miles from Texas Tech, but there are a lot of nearby restaurants and easy access to the highways.
