It did not bother us, but travelers should be aware that access to this second-floor unit is through a rather narrow staircase, not suitable for carrying heavy luggage. We just left our heavy suitcases in the entry hallway downstairs. Another issue that guests should be aware of is that there are almost no eating options within easy walking distance.

This is a beautifully remodeled second-floor unit, with wooden flooring, modern appliances and a kitchen/dining area that you share with an adorable cat. The host generously provides coffee pods, snacks, fruit and even some alcoholic drinks. The immediate neighborhood is pleasant, mostly quiet (no traffic noise, but some human noises) and appears safe. It was perfectly suited for our need, which was for an overnight stay near JFK airport, to rest between the domestic and international legs of our trip.

Ricardo is the absolute perfect host who cannot do enough to make you feel welcome. His attention to detail is outstanding and like many others said, his property is absolutely spotless! He helped a lot getting around on public transport which was very useful. The bathroom is spacious, the bedroom has everything one needs and the apartment is definitely in a higher category than many hotels I have stayed in.

The host was very accommodating. Cereal bars on the nightstand, fruit and casamigos was a wonderful touch (though I was too sleepy to indulge). I'm not usually a cat person but this property has the sweetest little cat in the world and won me over. Cosy lighting and decor. Travelling solo as a woman can be nervewracking, but here I felt safe and looked after for my layover. $20 10-15 min taxi from JFK too. If I ever have a long layover at JFK I'll choose here again. Great value.

The neighborhood is a bit too quiet at night so walking doesn't feel very safe after dark (but it's extremely convenient for JFK by cab or train)

The room is very comfortable - we slept very well. The bathroom is great, very clean. Neighbourhood is quiet. Self-check in was easy. The home is cozy and welcoming. The location is great - its just a 15 minute walk to Jamaica train station, connecting you to the subway, the Long Island Rail Road, and the AirTran to JFK. We would come back here again!
