We did have a great time staying there and loved the area.

The beds were quite uncomfortable. only one in five of us ever got a good night sleep. new mattress's would do wonders. There were several of the screens around the pool enclosure that need replacing so we did get quite a few bugs at night. the ceiling fan in the smaller pool side bedroom had no chain for operation but we made it work.

location on the canals was wonderful. The house was set up well for our group. Plenty of room. Nice pool area.

Some of the ceiling registers were dirty. It looked like there could have been mold forming. The Chairs at the bar and the small dining table need some kind of "felt" gliders on the bottom. It drags very roughly across the floor. Plus when they wash the floor, small rust spots form on the floors.

The facility was outstanding. It really met our needs for a great vacation. The location was great, the view in the morning and night were breathtaking. The pool and spa were also an added plus.

The fishing could have been better. Didn't catch many and a local told us that the sudden showers of rain kept the fish from biting...you do have to purchase non-resident fishing license...so our few fish were expensive (we had to go to the seafood market and buy seafood to cook) No room above so want to add, all of my pictures contain my grands, so I can not share.

We discovered Perkins Restaurant and Bakery..the best place..breakfast, lunch, or dinner anytime. We ate there 3 times...the kids would have chosen there everyday. My 16yr ate salmon even for breakfast. Our 12yr ate from adult menu loaded baked potato soup, 8yr old likes french toast with strawberries on top and whip cream. My favorite was build your own breakfast in the morning and 55+ menu other times. If you like old school, New England Moorings, the owner greeted us, asked the kids what they liked...while we were deciding our order...the waitress brought plates of samples...crab cake, fried fish, shrimp, gator...zucchini sticks and fried cauliflower... All 5 of us had plenty before we ordered. Our bill before the tip was under $75...all our samples, 5 plates, drinks and free dessert...the down side now for many...a little run down, no AC...old 60s & 70s decor...but the owner was great, he kept us entertained and I would go again...drive to Sanibel Island its the place to go and eat at the Island Cow...great seafood. Ft Myers is just a few miles away. We looked up every place to eat within 15 miles and voted each time where to eat...2 votes could win...but no matter where we ate...we enjoyed the food and the friendliness of the workers. We did not eat any fast food...cooked at this rental some and ate out once a day. The most expensive was The Island Cow, but for 5 adult plates with a variety of seafood and drinks was $105 before tax. The seafood platters were under $25 at every restaurant we visited. There are higher priced places, but with 3 kids you have to budget some. If no one can decide go to Buffet City on Cleveland in Ft Myers... One place we did not like was Mel's Diner...the decor was neat, we had hopes, but even though we all ordered different things, none of us liked the food and it was next to the highest in price. Now the home...fabulous...plenty of room...
