Each review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
Guidelines and Standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.

They charge 5 dollars for parking per day, which is not stated prior to booking. There was no towels in our room so we had to ask for them. The pool was not open. The staff was unqualified to run the hotel and had to call someone on the phone to answer our question.
Nice view from the room. Metal rails decorations outside the hotel.

There was a very "bare bones" feeling about the place. For example, it would have been nice to have a reading lamp by the bed, some hangers in the closet, and a coffee-maker. I appreciated the relatively large size of the refrigerator, but it had some kind of leak and all my food ended up full of water! Because the weather was in the 80's, I wanted to try the swimming pool (even though it was November). The water was absolutely freezing, and it was very dirty around the pool.
The staff was very pleasant and helpful. The room was adequate and clean. The location was good, with many enticing places to eat and a Trader Joe's nearby.

Great location in a fun neighborhood. The hotel had personality and very basic accommodations. However it was clean and I felt it was a great value.

Pillows were odd. Could use a power strip, not enough outlets. Maybe a lamp for Reading. Outlet in bathroom would be good.
Good location for visiting our son. Plants and nature were a plus. Good beds.

Dirty, old and filthy carpet. Stains on the linen. Refrigerator was not cold and spoiled milk and food. no kettle or cups to drink water. so unfortunate to see there is any option for making a coffee in the room.

They should update their bathroom doors. The toilet paper holders being attached was very odd.
The guy at check-in was very nice. It was easy to find parking. The place is cute and convenient for a lot of activities around town.

the room had no side light - only the main light the closet was just an empty hole in the wall the bathroom wasn't very clean one of the towels was completely dirty and covered in something that looked like vomit
the staff was helpful and polite the location was ok the outside of the motel was pretty

The toom was not perfectly clean, but that's almost normal woth the carpet.
The hotel is very nice and easy to reach. The location is perfect, out of the crazy traffic of LA, close to a high variety of food locations. The staff is very nice and welcoming.

this property was very comfortable and I felt safe the room was clean and roomy and the bed was very comfortable I would 100% stay here again. The was quick to get me a pillow when I asked for one. the property is also on a street where there is a lot of restaurants and drink options in walking distance which was amazing when trying to save money and gas.

Had some wifi issues. But they got solved the next day.
The Man from the reception was very friendly and helpful. Bed is comfortable and there are enough parking spaces :D

Property and rooms were clean, neighborhood was calm and property provides free parking spaces behind gates. There was an easy access to public transportation. Staff was friendly and they let us check-in a little bit early. They responded to a messages within 1 day.
