Affordable & Clean Refuge Nestled in Nature Just Minutes from Gate to Yosemite NP

    • Stayed 1 night

Yosemite View Lodge is a short but beautiful ride from Yosemite NP. Upon arrival, after spending the day hiking, we felt welcomed to the property seeing many people walking around, eating at the restaurant, still using the pool. I could tell that many others had selected the property for the affordable rate and cozy setting. Our room was clean, the bed was comfortable, and even though the parking lot was packed, we slept without hearing any noise except the wonderful sound of the river rushing over boulders as it passes behind the hotel. Also a wonderful spot to view the stars over the cliffs surrounding the hotel.

The rooms are a bit dated, but that’s part of the rustic charm and typical of lodges in national parks like Yosemite. It didn’t detract from the experience and actually fits the setting.

Great location and friendly staff. The lodge is very convenient for exploring Yosemite and reflects the classic national park style, which adds to its charm. While the rooms and overall comfort could use a bit of an update, the bed and pillows were comfortable, and the room was clean. There’s also plenty of parking nearby, which is a big plus. Overall, a good stay if you appreciate the authentic park experience.

Some games were broken and our room smelled a little musty when we arrived - it aired out pretty quickly though when we opened the balcony door.

Location, location, location! A quick and stunning drive into the park, petrol station nearby was a bonus. The hotel had great facilities to relax after a day exploring, multiple pools and jacuzzi's, a massive games room with games equipment plus side lounges with tv and board games. Great pizza place on site plus another restaurant we didn't visit. The room also has a small kitchen to make your own food. Top tip, take sandwich bags and supplies to make picnics for in the park. Onsite shop does sell a decent amount of stuff but no salad and it's understandably pricey.

The room was comfortable but did look outdated. The laundry is coin operated only. Limited value meals at the lodge. Elevators were not working in the building.

The room looks as if it was renovated about 35 years ago and hasn't been touched since then. Porch furniture was dirty. Wifi reception in the room was poor and a few times just didn't work. Shower head splashed all over.

The location is as good as it gets outside Yosemite park. It's close to the valley and major junctions in the park. Laundry room. 1.75$ per load (washing machine or dryer) which is very cheap. Pools - we tried only one of the pools and it was very refreshing. The staff at the front desk and the store were all kind and helpful.

Close to the park entrance. Great option for those who do not want/can't stay in the park. If you have a chance to get a room with a view of the river, it is a plus. They have a small market on site, and restaurants so very convenient. Beds were comfortable and the rooms were very clean.

Unfortunately there was a power outage in the area during our stay but the Lodge and booking.com worked together to compensate us for this and we were very grateful.

The location was incredible. I didn’t know we had a balcony until we arrived and the view was so stunning of the river and mountains. The beds were very comfy indeed. The bathroom was big and the bath was huge with jets. The pool was great and the shop was excellent with provisions and souvenirs. The staff were also great.
