Reviews of Viajero Montevideo Hostel

Everything is like in the pictures. As a solo traveler I felt super safe, all the staff 10/10, the location is perfect. You can walk to most of the tourist places from the hostel. The port is a 20min walk.

Noise from waste water pipe in boxing in the middle of the room. So when people above me used the toilet or sink. I could hear running water

The location is very central and the kitchen is excellent for making any type of meal. Great vibes overall, and I enjoyed the view of the city from the rooftop

Vibes are immaculate. Comfortable beds, private, good showers, good common area with pool table and bar. Staff are fun and encourage a social atmosphere

More shelving in the bed would be nice for small items.

Excellent location, twin room was large, good social area, whatsapp group to join, different activities throughout the week. Good size breakfast. Washing service.

Carpet in the room could do with a clean and the shower in the bathroom could have been a bit cleaner, but not a massive issue.

Very good location and the builiding is really charming.

The linens were not clean - I found stains and hair in my bed. Also the bathroom walls of my private suite were dirty, specially the ones in the shower box where the grouts between the tiles were dark due to the sludge.

Location and staff were def the highlight of the place. Really centric and great, however downtown in the weekends at night can get really empty and sketchy but otherwise works great. Staff were amazing too as they helped me book a tour and with so many questions - really nice. The building is also quite cool but need some remodeling.

Didn’t like that the bed bunks are combined (4 beds in one bunk bed with a division in the middle). So you are almost sleeping next to someone and can hear/feel everything. The door lock did not work properly and also some parts of the hostel really need to be cleaned better (inside of the room was always ok though - just the common areas deserved better)

Went in to ask the receptionist to let me take a look at the room first. She refused by saying they don't let anyone look at the room without a reservation. Can you believe that? She said photos shown on the websites should be enough. Either this hostel has got issues or it got someone with issues at the front desk. :-)

The environment is cozy and great for socializing with other travelers. The bartender, Victoria, is super nice!

Location right in the old town. The cinema room where I spent my nights ^^ Staff is very helpfull. It's a cute place.

No backpack atmospher when I was here. They don't do activities like in the other Viajero so it's very quiet and you don't meet lot of people. The bed I was the first night had a very strong smell of weed, like if someone smoked in it and now the matress smell of it. I changed bed the next night and problem was solved 🙂

Very good staff, and excellent location

I love everything about them, the staffs, hospitality, they made it comfortable for me. Especially Keni, he showed us love and kindness. Oh i would gladly recommend this place for anyone coming to Montevideo.
