We had to pay on arrival and pay a deposit of $50 cash because we kept our passports with us, even though they had taken a photocopy. The deposit was returned in the morning of check out.

I didn’t like the staircase taking you to the restaurant on the top floor No. 11 I am handcuffed it was difficult for me walking up without lift

They had construction being done during my stay. Originally I was on the 4th floor and the noise was SO LOUD i couldnt even think. so I asked to changed to a higher floor, which they did and they were nice. But this still had a large impact on the quality of my stay.

Free breaksfast was great. The staff were very nice and friendly and the rooms were very good with netflix and youtube. very comfortable. if it wasnt for the construction I would give a 9 or 10

❌ Things We Didn’t Like: Cleanliness could be better – While generally clean, some areas, especially in the bathroom, needed more attention. Hard pillows – The bed was comfortable, but the pillows were too firm for our liking. Window issue – Some rooms have no windows, and last year we accidentally booked one. We had to pay extra to switch, so double-check when booking. Passport issue – Both times we stayed, the staff wanted to keep our passports, which we didn’t allow. Not sure why, but it’s something to be aware of. Overall, Athena Hotel is a solid choice for both leisure and business travelers. With a few improvements, it could be even better.

We stayed at Athena Hotel twice and returned because of its location and overall comfort. Here’s what we liked and what could be improved. ✅ Things We Liked: Great location – The hotel is in a busy but convenient area, with plenty of food stalls, cafés, and restaurants serving delicious Vietnamese street food. Big C Hypermarket nearby – Just 5 minutes away, a Western-style supermarket where you can find almost anything. Comfortable beds – The beds were soft and cozy, which is always a priority for us. Spacious bathroom – Large, with a glassed-in shower. Nice room setup – Includes a big desk (great for work or organizing things), an armoire for clothes, and a small safe (handy for passports and valuables). Fantastic breakfast – The buffet on the 11th floor offers a huge selection of hot and cold dishes, sweets, and drinks. Definitely worth including in your room rate!

The only drawback is that the hotel is in district 10 and most of the places to visit and travel to (including good resturants) are all around district-1.

Clean, spacious, nice friendly staff and location especially next door had big supermarket was handy! We were there for our wedding anniversary and staff provided a nice surprise in our room.

The only issue was that the wind from the central air conditioning was pointing straight to the bed and there was no way we could adjust the direction of the wind.

The hotel is near my meeting place. Though it is not in the touristy area, there are lots of restaurants and shops around. The staff were very helpful.

It's mostly good, but one exception is a rude staff on night duties. Also, be informed that only in this hotel, your credit card may have issues to be used even though you may have no problems elsewhere in the same city. Baffling.

The breakfast was average. The rooms weren’t bad but not the value of what we paid. There was no taxi service from the airport and we had the most challenging and difficult experience getting transport from the airport to the hotel. We accidentally broke one glass and the staff made us pay for it. It wasn’t much, and the money wasn’t an issue. But considering the price, paying for a broken glass didn’t feel very nice.

The staff were helpful and courteous on our arrival but on departure wasn’t so great.

I had some issues with my reservation and the hotel had changed my room without notifying me of the changes. In the future, I would've liked to be notified of the changes particularly given how often I had visited this hotel prior.

I've stayed at this hotel 3 times now. It's location is a happy medium between the city centre and the airport for those that need to do overnight transfers. The hotel itself is modern, clean and the staff are friendly and attentive.

It's not as such whats not to like. It depends on the needs of the customer. Regarding location, its great for quick transfers in and out of HCMC. But it is quite a distance from D1
