How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Verified reviewStaying at this resort was one of the highlights of our trip to Vietnam. It’s a gorgeous property offering first-rate service and beautifully designed rooms with private pools. The staff are professional and always ready to assist with any needs. The spa, along with the Thai and Vietnamese restaurants, was excellent, and the beach was fantastic. The resort gave us a truly one-of-a-kind holiday experience!

Only thing to improve on would be a clearer tipping policy. I prefer to tip on check out to a collective pot. Otherwise it is not easy to know what is the right level.

Hard to find any faults but the pool water was a little too warm and not refeshing in such hot weather.

Verified reviewI was concerned about the aging facilities since it was built a long time ago, but as expected from a Banyan Tree, they were well-maintained. The staff were all sweet and friendly.
The electric kettle, hairdryer, and hand soap were partially missing, and beach towels were not replaced after housekeeping. Housekeeping seemed to need some attention.

Verified review- Very good communication with the hotel before our arrival, despite several last-minute flight changes. - We received a warm and kind welcome upon arrival, despite it being 2 a.m. - The hotel’s location is beautiful, by the beach, surrounded by greenery and a peaceful canal – very relaxing atmosphere. - The 1-bedroom villa was very spacious, with two toilets and a large bathroom featuring a bathtub with an ocean view. - Excellent internet connection throughout the property. - The buggy service was very responsive – quick to arrive whenever we called. - The breakfast was excellent, with a wide variety of options. - A truly wonderful chef who went above and beyond to accommodate our tastes – she made a delicious lava cake, thank you! - The Vietnamese cooking class on the boat along the small canal was a great experience – lots of fun and great food. - Room service was quick and efficient. - Restaurant staff were very friendly and welcoming. - The massages were outstanding – even the complimentary 60-minute massage was perfect. The therapists took into account the areas to avoid and the preferred pressure. - The small gift delivered each evening was a thoughtful and much-appreciated touch. - The hotel manager was attentive and genuinely listened to guest feedback.
- No introduction or tour of the villa was provided at check-in. - We only learned three days after our arrival that we had a dedicated butler - when we met her at breakfast ! - Communication with our butler was confusing and unprofessional – a surprise birthday moment was ruined due to a lack of discretion and poor coordination. - Staff overall lacked the training expected from a high-end hotel. - No effort was made to manage food allergies, despite having informed the staff in advance. One guest allergic to corn was served corn on the first night. Another, intolerant to seafood, was served fish chips. And coriander was served at nearly every meal, despite us stating clearly that we couldn’t eat it. - Activities offered by the hotel were unorganized and felt rushed or improvised. - The outdoor area of the villa was completely neglected, which diminished the beauty of the place (see photo of the villa entrance). - The villa was in need of renovation – damaged wallpaper and outdated decor. - Housekeeping in the villa was sloppy – not only were there fingerprints on glass surfaces, but also smudges and marks in more intimate areas, clearly left by previous guests. - Cleaning was not done while we were at breakfast unless we specifically called to request it. Otherwise, staff showed up while we were in the villa. - The beach was not very attractive, though it was relatively clean.

Verified reviewVery comfortable Villa located in a larger resort with every facility you could want. Staff excellent and went out of their way to make your stay memorable. Great cocktail lounge - Bar manager Thien was knowledgeable and welcoming and Happy hour good value. Restaurants lots to choose from the 2 hotels. Golf course recommended Cooking class fun -Y was a great teacher. Villa hosts Man and Daniel went out of their way to help make the stay comfortable.

Verified reviewOutstanding and personalized service. The staff really makes you feel home, know your names and assign a private manager to help you with any issues. Villas are great, beach is huge and nice and breakfasts are amazing. You can take bikes to ride around the property. But again, level of service is just “love”.
