We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.

To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.

When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

NetherlandsVery nice family offering comfortable room. They helped with onward booking travels as well. Location is close to an bang beach and bars. When driving a motorbike, this is a very comfortable stay, budget pricing, with 2 min drive to the beach and bars.

United StatesI really wanted to like this place, but unfortunately my experience left a poor taste in my mouth. I originally booked the King Room with two king beds and a balcony. The room itself was spacious, the A/C worked well, and there was consistent hot water, which I appreciated. It’s a great, quiet location within walking distance to the beach and restaurants. However, Room 201 had a serious bug issue—ants and small flying ants were everywhere. I showed a video to the staff on the first day and they did spray and clean, but there was no apology or acknowledgment of the inconvenience. By the next morning, the bugs had returned. I messaged the staff while heading to breakfast asking to switch rooms. They said I could, and I moved to a smaller room on the next floor up. The new room was less than half the size, had no balcony, and—according to their rates—was a significantly cheaper room category. I asked to be charged the appropriate rate for the room I was now in for the remaining two nights, but she refused, saying Booking.com had already charged them. That’s not the guest’s problem—charging full price for a downgrade is unacceptable. They offered to move me back to Room 201 after another cleaning, but the bugs kept coming back multiple times a day. Honestly, I would’ve just left and gone somewhere else, but unfortunately they do not offer refunds and I had already spent a lot of money on the room, so I felt stuck. Customer service was lacking, aside from a younger gentleman who was very pleasant and friendly and at least apologized and offered me a free juice. The woman at the front desk, who I discussed the bug situation with didn’t seem to care that I was staying in a room with ongoing pest issues. I didn’t see any other reviews mentioning ants or flying bugs, so maybe other rooms are totally fine—but Room 201 is definitely not one of them. For what I paid, this experience was not worth it. Overpriced and disappointing.
