Each review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
Guidelines and Standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.

Our room was at 3rd floor have to climb up and down all day , have to msg owner to clean the room to get it done , value for money but no ventilation, just sleep take shower and go out

Hot water would run out after 1 shower
The property was clean and was very close to the centre. The host was able to help us book taxi to the airport in the early hours and print paperwork for us.

It wasn't easy to find, it's located in a narrow alley at the end of which you'll find a cardboard sign with the hotel written on it in marker. The bathroom is private but not in the room. It is located in the stairs, where the tenants of the other rooms pass. There is no closet and there are only two towels for two people (one small and one large). The balcony faces the wall of another house, so not a ray of light enters.
The location is perfect for walking around the city. It is right in the old quarter and within walking distance of the major attractions. Many out-of-town tours start right from this neighborhood. Very convenient

Supposedly we could check in from 12pm onwards, according to booking. However when we arrived at 3pm the room was still unavailable and we had to wait for half hour

The access to the room was through a very dark short alley and the gates to the building were padlocked most of the time, you had to unlock and lock it when you go out. There isn’t any natural light in the room.
The location is great. The beds were comfy, the fan and aircon made the room temperature easy to control. Owner was friendly, little spoken English but that’s not a negative, just a note to other travellers ☺️

Wasn't very clear on the signs, we went to the next door but was told it was the other one. You will need to go inside an antique or wood shop of sorts, then the staff are above the bed. It's ok - but our main issue is that there isn't a lift. Since we were only staying for a few hours to freshen up and catch our flight at night then we could leave the luggage at the ground floor. Bathroom is also your own private bathroom BUT is outside your room so essentially anyone can come use it.
It's ok - nothing special as it is a house-stay rather than a hotel. Had to stay here as our flight had been moved the next morning. It's fine for short stays. Room is small but bright. Has a window though no view. Bathroom is clean and we are provided the usual soap/toothbrush.

Disappointing Stay – Basic Comforts Not Provided I stayed here for 4 days and was disappointed with several aspects of the experience. There was no housekeeping or towel/linen change during the entire stay. The host later informed me that cleaning was available upon request, but this was not clearly communicated at check-in. Also, the bathroom is private but located outside the room, which means it could have been cleaned or refreshed without entering the main room—yet it wasn’t. The bathroom itself is very small, gets extremely hot, and there was no hot water available during the stay. The room has no natural light, and opening the window is not possible because warm air from a nearby building’s air-conditioning unit blows directly onto it. Additionally, there is no reception or staff presence in the building, making it difficult to get help or raise concerns.
The only real positive is the location in the old town, which is convenient for exploring. Unfortunately, the stay didn’t offer the comfort or support I expected.
