How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewLoved almost everything. The room was spacious and well furnished. the area was local, and the community was great. It's located close to the airport, but you don't hear the planes. Laundry facilities are great, easy and cheap. Great big kitchen close to restaurants and one of the best sushi places ever. Communcation was effortless and all enquiries were handled immediately using WhatsApp.
There was a communal kitchen, but the stove was damaged, and it was not possible to cook in house, not that we needed it, but if you rely on cooking your own meals this will be an issue.

Verified reviewGreat value for money. Clean small room ideal for a short over night stay. Good communication via WhatsApp but no one to greet on check in desk. Convenient for the city and the airport
Unsure about security - no one on front desk and open front door - but maybe that is OK in Vietnam.

Verified reviewEasy check-in and check-out. Location is more local and not too close to the beach but you can take grab. Also it's walking distance from the airport which is a plus for some people. Upon arrival we were surprised at how accurate the photos of the room were, which is sometimes not the case on Booking. Spacious room with a lot of windows and a comfortable bed. Being sensitive to smells, I was relieved to finally have a room with zero damp smell in Vietnam! Everything was very clean and the whole homestay is aired out. I personally loved the bathroom and the shower a lot, it was very spacious, there was enough hot water and the water pressure was strong. Self-service laundry for a very cheap price. People complain about the sounds from the temple nearby but for us it was nice - it didn't go on for long in the evening and actually it was pretty soothing and relaxing to listen to. Great place to stay!
During the last night we heard people packing and leaving the homestay I guess, being really noisy from 12 to 3am, banging their luggage, running down the stairs, yelling, etc. It's not the fault of the homestay but if stricter rules were inforced for guests to be quiet at night, I feel like then it would be a perfect homestay.

Verified reviewSuper cute, cozy & well-lit room. The bed was spacious and the furniture/interior felt welcoming so I was very happy with my room. I slept very well and had a very satisfactory stay. I paid by card, so I had to contact the property and arrange a time to have someone come to process my card payment, but it all went very smoothly. They also have laundry machines and provide detergent (which you pay for, but it was cheap) for those who want to use them. Filtered water is also free, as long as you have your own water bottles.
A couple points that might bother some people (but I was okay with): - There were little bagworms on the walls of my room. I personally didn't mind since they don't really move and they're harmless, and they're basically everywhere in the area due to the humidity. - It was difficult to sleep in because 1) my curtains were a bit see-through, and while the window was high up so people can't see inside, it's not possible to block out the morning sun and 2) the location is across the street from a temple so it gets a bit noisy in the morning. - The hot water stopped coming out after about 10 minutes, which was enough for me but maybe not for some people who want to take longer showers. - There is no elevator, and I was on the top floor (the 4th floor) so I wouldn't say it's accessible.

Verified reviewEasy and fuss free check-in procedure. Host contacted me to ensure that I knew the way to the hostel. Big and spacious room with a balcony! Room was clean too. Hostel was near basic food stalls (banh mi, etc). Walking distance to the Da Nang International Airport (about 15 mins).
Dry and wet areas in the toilet were not logically designed. No lift available.

Verified reviewThe hotel was fine overall, but every early morning around 7:00 AM, the temple or church nearby holds prayers that are very loud and disruptive, waking us up each day.
