We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomThe gardens lanterns which look so pretty in the pictures were tatty and needed replacing. This is such a minor issue as the garden is maintained by a gardener. And it is end of winter.
Everything worked well, the shower and bathroom were all in good order as was the kitchen and bedroom. All very comfortable, the cleaners came in every 2 days. It was great to have a washer and dryer too! It’s private and set in a quiet lane with other families living nearby. A nice area to sit outside and have breakfast. Lots of restaurants nearby. Trinh helped us settle in gave great recommendations for restaurants in the area and provided a reliable scooter for a couple of days. WiFi was great as was the tv which connected directly to Netflix no bother. I recommend.

AustraliaAbsolutely nothing to fault. Worth noting that it’s tucked away in a side street and so if you have a lot of luggage you might need to walk a little.
I loved the lanterns in the garden, the facilities, the bath, the bed was fantastic and Ms Trinh was a wonderful host. She was kind, generous with her time and her knowledge and even helped me relocate my things to my next accommodation. The location is fantastic, walking distance to the beach and to some really great restaurants on the beach with delicious Vietnamese food and fresh coconuts. Also pretty decently situated in relation to Hoi An main city.

AustraliaThe concrete floors were very slippery when we so had to be very careful in the shower.
The whole property is beautiful and quiet. Very private and beautiful gardens. Close to some excellent restaurants and easy cycling distance in to Hoi An old town. 3 minute walk to the beach. Our host was very helpful, booking bikes and tours for us and always responded quickly. Having a washing machine and dryer was also very convenient!

The Garden of Love villa was a fabulous place to stay. It had everything we needed and more. It had heaps of room, the shower was amazing and it was very private. Everything about it was high end for a very reasonable price. The location is away from the really touristy area of Hoi An but still close for walking to plenty of shops, restaurants and the beach. The villa has bikes for hire, which we took to Old town and beyond. We would definitely stay again and it would be good for long term stays.

AustraliaAbsolute hidden gem. One of the best places I have ever stayed. The facilities were clean and modern, and well thought out. The accomodation had everything we needed for a 2 week stay. The garden was beautiful, and even more so at night with the lanterns! Right next to the beach and many restaurants as well. It was the perfect quiet and scenic getaway but was still right next to facilities. There’s a morning market on everyday to get fresh tropical fruit and veggies as well. Hoi An Old town was a 15 min car drive away when we wanted to go to the city. Do yourself a favour and book a relaxing stay here!!

Germany-
The house was fantastic in all respects and set in a beautiful and lush setting, which is nicer than the pictures show. The location was perfect for the 2 of us. It was quiet, away from any party or other hassle, but still only a very few minutes walking distance to local and western style (if you need it) restaurants and cafes, to shops, a local market where you'll find delicious tropical fruits, nice beach, a selection of spas, ATM....you name it. The kitchen was fully equipped, so we had the option to prepare our own food or go out for meals, which we did most of the time. Hoi An is only a short motorbike or car ride away. We promise, you'll be glad to return to lively but peaceful An Bang after meeting the crowds in Hoi An city. The villa manager Trinh was very friendly, very responsive and even more helpful at arranging activities and transport, always at good prices. Everything we asked for was arranged smoothly. We would have extended our stay, if the villa had been available for some more days. We will happily try to book again whenever we are going to travel to the area. We are glad we booked it and had a perfect stay.
