How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Verified review- Location was the only good thing but there is much better ones for cheaper around. Do not go here. - Staff were okay
- Construction starts at 6am and goes til 8pm! Could not even sleep well cause my walls were vibrating. No one tells you and they don’t even have a sign at front desk apologising for inconvenience - I ran out of toilet paper, receptionist did not know where any was then when they did find it by waking up the manager, they gave me one roll. Don’t know why they’re being so cheap when I have paid for a room - The shower floods the whole bathroom and has mold all over (drainage is shocking) - tv is completely in vietnamese and staff do not know how to change it - there is no bed side table which is so inconvenient

Verified reviewThe property is in an idea location, everything is walkable from here and the hotel itself is lovely. We had the cheapest room and yet it was so spacious - the bathroom was also big and had a powerful shower! The staff were so friendly and welcoming, they took the time to talk to us and hear about our trip and our plans. Would recommend this to anyone looking for somewhere to stay in the centre of Hanoi!

My room was very narrow and long however this seems to be the traditional building style in Hanpi so I cannot fault the hotel. Breakfast was very basic

Loved the bathroom. This hotel had a family feel. Great airport car service. I will stay here again if I come to Hanoi

Verified reviewHotel is situated at very prime location of old quarter. Everything from Don xuang market, hoan kiem lake, night market is just a walking distance away.
Hotel staff and manager were very generous and they helped us plan our trip and also arranged airport pick and drop facility at lower price than grab.

Some rooms don't even have a window, something common tho in Vietnam. Windows in some rooms that have one, are pretty small and don't open. Breakfast was poor, couldn't drink the coffee.

Verified reviewThe location is great and everything is in walking distance. The staff at the hotel are friendly but more could’ve been done to make our stay better.
I know this isn’t the properties fault but it is right next to construction and the noise is awful. The drilling starts early and when we got in from our flight at 4pm, the drilling was continuous. When I mentioned this to staff and how I really needed to sleep, I was told there was nothing they could do and gave me ear plugs (which also didn’t cover the noise). When I asked if I could move rooms to somewhere that wasn’t connected to the wall of the place doing construction I was told no and that they had no other room, despite me being able to book on booking.com. I requested to speak to the manager and no one came to speak to me to help solve the issue. The bedcovers were dirty upon arrival. I had to go downstairs and ask for clean covers. The overall cleanliness of the hotel is sub par. Our bed touched a wall which was covered in stains which was unpleasant to wake up facing. The shower and bathroom has areas of black mould. The air conditioning is so weak that we thought it was not working. At one point the temperature was 26 degrees in our room. Despite us mentioning this to staff, we were told to keep it on for longer and the room would get cold - it was on for 2 hours before we called them up.

we only had one problem because we accidentally broke a soap dish and at first they wanted to charge us an excessive price, but then we talked it over and it was resolved

Unfortunately, my friend was feeling ill on the plane but the night staff, Jack Son and Jessica were extremely kind and obliging in providing us advice and with a free car to the hospital. Throughout the stay the staff were extremely friendly and the location was ideal for visiting the sites in Hanoi.
