Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomThe staff are the best thing about this property. They are so welcoming and will do anything they can to help you. When returning from a trip, they would greet us by our name and ask us if we had had a good day. The hotel is in a good location in the old quarter. Breakfast offered a range of hot and cold items including 5 freshly prepared items on the table menu (the rest were buffet style). The rooms had everything we required and were comfortable.

ChinaIn the rooms with bath tube, if you want to take a regular shower, it's going to be messy because there is no curtain or door. We requested to change rooms to one with regular shower room and the staff was super helpful to move our luggage.
The attention we received was amazing, they really go to the next level of service. It's a 5 star hotel inmerse in the middle of the old quarter.

ItalyI advice to fix the shower drain, the water flows very slowly. Also in the night is very noisy but is not the hotel fault because its from night clubs in the area.
The staff were really helpful and nice. Breakfast is also good

United StatesNothing, really, but ensure you specify that you want a shower. Most rooms come with a bathtub that looks cool, but I’m more of a shower girl.
The staff was terrific, and the excellent customer service made the trip worthwhile. Everything worked, and their willingness to help with stuff is incredible. The location is close to everything and everywhere.

NetherlandsOur stay at Hanoi Boutique Hotel & Spa was simply amazing. The people working there do everything to make our stay unforgettable. The day before my birthday (which was during our stay here) Thruang and his colleagues arranged a birthday surprise with cake and everything. This totally exceeded my expectation. Also the new bar offers great cocktails (real cocktails instead of the often fake and sweet versions in town). Also the location is perfect and we've enjoyed a massage which was also very good. Happy to come back again soon!

United StatesLights in the room should be brighter. Should have 2 entry keys to the room readily available for each room.
The location of this establishment is ideally situated, allowing for easy walking access to all areas of Old Town. The front office staff and bellboys consistently provided exceptional support, surpassing my expectations in every way. Special recognition is due to the group leader, Mai (Mina), whose sincerity and willingness to assist were truly commendable. Her dedication to ensuring our needs were met was outstanding. In my 40 years of staying at various hotels, I have never encountered a team as exceptional as this one. Their commitment to customer satisfaction is truly unparalleled.

CanadaFriendly reception, and guidance to hotel. Excellent breakfast staff and service, great coffee and food selection The room could use more detailed sweeping and extra blanket for the bed. Excellent location in the heart of Old Quarter Steps away from the weekend night market, shops and restaurants. The hotels in this area are typically older with smaller rooms. Our room was an upgraded one but spacious it was not. Overall, pleasant stay.

We had little Good night chocolates left on the door which was so cute. The breakfast was really good and the whole vibe was fantastic. Recommended!

IrelandWe loved this hotel! Bear in mind, it's in the middle of the old town of Hanoi, which is a manic, loud, chaotic and overwhelming place until you get used to it as a tourist. But it is the area for most first-time tourists in Hanoi, so this hotel's location is absolutely perfect. What we particularly enjoyed was the staff of the hotel. I don't know how and why, but the entire team (reception, restaurant etc.) was made up of young people who all spoke English very well (very rare in Vietnam) and they all seemed to have come out of the same hospitality school. The whole setup felt like it was some kind of a youth group project to run a hotel and it worked very well! All members of staff were very helpful when we asked for advice and directions and they make a serious effort to smooth your stay in Hanoi. They were very helpful in arranging transportation and other requests we had, and when there was a small misunderstanding in one of the bookings (nothing too major for us) they graciously offered to cover 50% of the cost. Overall this is a fantastic hotel for visitors to Hanoi and the team running it create a unique atmosphere that combines professionalism with a welcoming spirit. I would definitely stay there again!
