How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

Since it is a commercial street, you may find a lot of cooking smells as you come out of the building in the morning. Nothing in the room.
It was a great location. Very good size rooms and some of them with a balcony. In the main old quarter. Lift is working. Very close to that train street.

We had to pay extra to check in early because of our night bus. We ended up arriving at 11am and they still charged us for an early check in. Not a big deal but after a long night it’s nice to catch a break.
Lovely and comfortable room, very clean and high quality. The staff were very helpful and laundry was cheaper than other local spots.

We really enjoyed our stay here. There was a little confusion with our booking but it was booking.coms fault. Easily resolved. Staff were lovely and very helpful. Perfect location in old quarter short walking distance to everything. Would stay here again!

They only thing that I had to complain about was the electrical systems failed twice
It’s right near the train street which is where I wanted to be , the staff were very helpful .

The walls are somewhat thin as you could hear the person next door coughing

Hot water ran out a little too quickly, but it was fine. It's still under construction on the top floor but that shouldn't put you off. A comfortable stay.
Big, warm, room and friendly staff. My laundry was done super fast and they always had someone at reception if I needed something. The location is great too. View from the top was nice. You could watch the train pass.

We arrived at 3am. The whole street was darknwith only the streetlights on. The roll-up door was half closed so we didnt see immediately the signage.
The location was very ideal. Staff was very polite and helpful.

The bathroom was rather small and felt like it had been added as an afterthought.
The room came with a balcony and was spacious and comfortable. It was on the 5th floor but luckily the elevator was working. Both our day trips were arranged by the hotel which was great because we didn’t have to do much planning - it was all taken care of. We even extended our stay here because it was so convenient and centrally located. It was good to be in the heart of Old Quarter since all the pickups and drop-offs for the day tours covered the area. Huy and Nam at the reception were always helpful and we appreciated their services, always with a smile.

When i arrived the first night of the 6th that i stayed i was told that i had paid £14 each for 2 days for only 3 hours each day!! If i wanted to stay for the whole night i should pay an extra £6 a night. Was this a scam? Booking.com? I checked the site and hadn’t noticed this before. This should be outlawed. When one has flown 20 hours and to arrive at the hotel to be told that they have booked and paid for 3 hours is terrible. The staff were very helpful organising trips etc but the false advertising should be rectified. It left a nasty taste in my mouth

my room didn't have natural light, a big window into a central column of the building so felt a bit stuffy and confined. im sure the other rooms are fine, i booked the cheapest one

Rooms were nice and spacious but cleanliness could do a little bit better. Host was friendly and attentive to our requests, and also provided with recommendations on where to visit and eat in Hanoi. Property is decently well located within Hanoi.

Our room was advertised as a window room but the window opened up onto a dark boxed in alley way. The only thing I was fussed on was the bathroom door was glass and didn’t shut fully.
The hotel was in such a good location, train street is so close. The room was quite small but was clean and the bed was quite comfortable.

No breakfast, but that's also the reason of why a room costs less than in other places, and for someone it could actually be a plus. Not having power sockets and light switches close to the bed sometimes is annoying. It's close to one of the most popular places, the rail, so it's a bit noise also because of the trains passing. I would add hand soap in the bathroom.
The rooms are a bit old style, but comfortable. Mr Tony was very helpful, better one person at the reception who knows what to do and how to solve problems, than five staying there just to say hi and open the door. In the room there was a table with chair, and the wifi was good enough to work.

this hotel was in perfect location- so close to many restaurants and train street. the owner was so lovely even when we accidentally booked the wrong type of room he quickly sorted it all out for us. would definitely recommend
