Each review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

Nothing for complain for sure
The manager ( Linh) was supper supper helpful for my stay and booking trip in the North Vietnam. Stay for a night and extend for many because of her. Would definitely recommend this hostel for all the backpackers :)

This is a wonderful place to stay — everything is clean, the beds are comfortable, and the value for money is excellent. The location is also great, right in the city center. A special mention goes to Lynn at the reception — she is exceptionally friendly and welcoming. Definitely worth a stay!

It was difficult to climb five flights of stairs.
the location is good in the old quarter of Hanoi. the hostel gives a breakfast every morning and the option for tours. the beds were very comfortable.

It wasn't as clean as other hostels I've stayed in for this price range, but still totally fine. The bathrooms were always clean, just the dorm floors weren't. Still would recommend to go here and have a good and nice stay 🙂
Great location, quiet dorm at night and a bit more anonymous as it's a huge hostel, but the price is totally fine for what you get, fresh clean towel, staff is available 24/7 and always willing to help. Great to explore the city and have some good sleep. Very spacious bed area and great for storage!

This has now changed but there was no breakfast on my first two days which meant it was hard to meet anyone else and it was almost too quiet. But they started serving it on my last day which will help a lot !
Great location - a quiet street near to the lake, old quarter and amazing coffee places ! Linh at the hostel was lovely and very helpful in organising tours and I had a great 3 day trip to Sapa with smooth pick up etc. the beds were also comfy, with stairs up to the top bunks. Lockers were spacious too.

Alex at the reception was really helpful, he kindly helped us when booking our buses to Sapa. When we came back 2 weeks later he remembered us and accepted to take care of our bags (flight was in the evening so did not have any reservations at the place) Would recommend absolutely ! clean new room (dormitory) and perfect location ! i’m

The location is great, only a few minutes away from the Old Quarter. There's hardly any noise and the room is clean. Staff is helpful and eager to help with booking different activities.

Great location, just a couple of minutes walk and everything is close by. The train street was only about 10-15 mins walk. The staff were really helpful and they helped arrange my ha Giang loop tour which i loved. Quite at night
