How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewNice location with lots of food option, comfortable beds.
Room not very soundproof. We were unlucky that there was a vietnamees family used the hallway as there room starting from 4:30 untill 6:30 with screaming and door slaming, a good thing the host said something and the next day it was quiet. Also we stayed for 4 days and didn’t get any room refreshment. Which is no problem until the towels started smelling and the trash can was full.

Verified reviewThe room I booked was small, OK for one but two would struggle. For example, the bed was flush to the wall on one side with about one metre of space on the other. The bathroom shower was not in a cubicle but in the same room as the lavatory. Water was hot. The room was clean and quiet, had a window. I paid VND305000 on Booking. I have now discovered that is too much for such a room as I am now in another hotel for the same price much bigger room regular bathroom with shower unit. I asked what the walk in price was and he told me VND320000 which insulted my intelligence and made me question his! Breakfast included just eggs and toast, banana and tea. The state of the kitchen was horrendous and there's a lavatory adjacent which would be illegal in most countries.
No water refill which is a big negative for me. Also there's an undisclosed surcharge: 3% for credit card payment. Thanks 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻 I slept OK and the TV was good. If you're a couple you can definitely do much better for the same price. I wouldn't stay again

The bed wasn’t the most comfortable, you can feel the springs

Verified reviewLocation is central, quiet and walkable. Room was small but had a great big window with a view so I really appreciated that. Bed was super comfortable as well. Staff is very kind and speak English. Light but filling breakfast is provided (coffee, banana, eggs).
Unfortunately it is not a hostel, but rather 4 floors of private rooms. You will probably not meet anywhere unless you're passing them on the stairs (no lift).

Verified reviewWe thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Hello Dalat. It was in a lovely location that was quiet but not too far from the lake. The room was small, but having the patio made up for it. No AC was fine as it was cool enough without. Staff were fantastic with helping us arrange onwards travelling and cooking delicious breakfast each morning. Could not recommend here more! No water provided but you could purchase for cheap.

Verified reviewIt is a lovely place with very modern fittings. It is in a quiet alley, just off a main street so it was very quiet at night. The room was cool and clean, the bed very comfortable and two pillows each. The showers was superb and hot water immediately. There was a little garage for the motorcycle. There was a good breakfast included of eggs, bread and toast. A really good place to stay and a great nights sleep
Nothing. It was perfect

Verified reviewThe room was very clean and simple, small but very good value for money. The shower was hot and had good pressure and the staff were really nice. Breakfast was simple but tasty. Location was nice, close to the centre but in an alley to it wasn’t too loud by Vietnamese standards.

Breakfast could have more choice than only eggs. Fresh milk instead of instant milk would be appreciated

Verified reviewLocation is down a side street/alley, so it is quiet. The staff were helped us contact the cab company and confirm pricing. For groups of 4: It was the only shared room accommodation type during our trip through all of Vietnam that had two toilet rooms, which was convenient to have. Good value for no frills, basic accommodations
Some slight mold in the bathrooms

Verified reviewFriendly staff, came out to greet and help us carry in the bags from the main road. Little lobby/waiting area is comfy and welcoming. Checking in was easy, beds were extremely comfortable and spacious. Room has smart tv so great room for relaxing and movie nights. Cute night lights for reading and soften the ambiance. Big windows, natural light and sodas, water and noodles available very cheap downstairs. Room had 2 washrooms with shower and toilets. Walking around area is a bit tight but good for short term stay. Centrally located, close by lots of shops, cafes, restos. Also great bonus a few steps from the door is a very popular authentic dalat cuisine sturgeon fish that has line ups each night. The grilled sturgeon is a must try.
No elevator for large luggages although I think most people who stay travel light. Cars cannot enter the alleyway so carrying things in can be a bit inconvenient. Washroom tiles can be rechalked between the tiles to look new and cleaner. Very thin low quality toilet paper. Windows look directly into other homes. Needs a floor mat for the washroom to keep the room dry and tidy.

The breakfast was simple but decent. The bathroom was clean and I found all the necessary toiletries there.
