Each review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
Guidelines and Standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. The owner woman was really kind. I arrived early, and seeing that I was tired , she gave me a check-in around 10 am instead of the 2pm checkin time. Also, I felt like home there, with good food and service

Very nice place in a perfect location. So yummy and authentic vietnamese food! The owners and the staff were very kind and hardworking. Comfortable room and super, super clean! I highly recommend this hotel!

Nice hostel with convenient location in Hoi An with comfortable and clean room. Lovely and kind staff who can speak good English. They helped me book a transfer to Quy Nhon. Excellent value for money. Thank you for the hospitality!

Great value for money! The location is perfect, easy to explore the area on foot. The staff was super kind, caring and helpful and everyone was speaking good English. Also the food in the restaurant in front of the Hostel is delicious! Would definitely recommend if you are looking for budget friendly comfort.

Given the price, this place is exceptional. Our room was big, clean enough and had good air conditioning. Our room was cleaned every day and the sheets changed every second day. The hotel is located about 10 minutes walk from the centre of the old town with the benefit of having cheaper restaurants nearby than you can find in the centre.

Flexible with check in time. I was also able to extent my stay without no problem. The room was quite spacious and good shower! The family are so sweet and gave me plenary of water each day. Really good location and value for money.

The staff, specifically the lady, were super nice, helpful and friendly! The location is good, some minutes walking to the river (main attraction). The room is very comfortable and clean. You can buy breakfast, coffee and food and I paid the total, including the room, with card with the normal 3% (as everywhere in Vietnam), it was very useful.

Very friendly staff, we spent one night there then we booked for another day. They provide extra duvet as it was a bit cold at night.

It's not that I didn't like it because I'm always up for a little walk, but one should know that it's not the closest to the river where the boats and lanterns are.
Liked and more of got me surprised was the fact that I was only asked to pay during checkout, something that rarely happens. The room was cozy and, while not directly facing the street, also had access to the balcony. The owners were very friendly and they have a restaurant where you can conveniently get good Vietnamese food from.

Toilet paper could have been better quality Didn't like the toilet / shower all in one room but that's a personal preference

One of the sockets looked a tad bit sketchy, and there’s no elevator. These are such minor gripes that I would still very much so recommend this spot unless you want to splurge on over the top luxury

There is hot water, AC, a fridge and a comfortable bed so basically all you need. The owners are really helpful and super kind. Also good price/quality. Definitely recommended!

The owners of the Homestay were very friendly and always tried to help. I found the location to be very good- just walking distance from where everyone goes in the old town. The food in their restaurant was very well priced and tasty as well.

The room is really small and has a lot of fungus on its walls.
