Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

RomaniaMinor issues (mostly external): • Not the hotel’s fault, but the beach area is currently undergoing major redevelopment. The entire area around the hotel is one big construction site. On one night we could even hear workers in the distance until early morning – didn’t bother us as we sleep with earplugs, but worth noting. • I’d probably choose a hotel next time on the side of the beach with sunset views. • Our room had a sea view, but the windows were extremely dirty – likely because of the nearby construction. • The “fridge” is more of a display cooler – it doesn’t chill as quickly or as well as a normal fridge, though it wasn’t a real issue for us.
We stayed at Ibis Styles Vung Tau for 3 nights The positives: • Rooms are very well soundproofed – we didn’t hear any noise from other guests during our stay. • White, clean, well-maintained towels. • Spacious bathroom with a fully enclosed shower and excellent hot water pressure. • Air conditioning runs continuously, even when you’re not in the room. • Power outlets also work without inserting the key card. • We received two key cards at check-in – rare, but very convenient. • Rooftop pool area is lovely, with lots of seating and great views. • Daily housekeeping. • No toiletries in the room (to reduce plastic waste), but you can request them at reception. • Big, comfortable bed with a full duvet cover. • Plenty of power outlets, including one on each side of the bed. • Large mirror in the room + magnifying mirror in the bathroom. • Very helpful and kind reception staff – they even helped us book a minivan back to Ho Chi Minh City (the transport company refused to arrange hotel pick-up because we didn’t have a Vietnamese phone number, but the hotel staff sorted it out for us!).

AustraliaVery noisy, the design is faulty! All rooms face onto a large void, which means that the noise from your floor or any of the floors echos up and down all floors. The aircon in the gym could not be taken below 28, which made the gym a challenge to use as it felt like a sauna. Not many sun beds around pool.
Bed was comfortable. Staff were friendly.

AustraliaGreat location on the foreshore with less than ten minute walk to the main food street. The rebuild of the park along the beach was still underway when we were there, but the parts that were open were impressive. If you are looking for a beach, this side of Vung Tai has a very long and wide sandy beach. The room was spacious and clean and provided bottled water. The buffet breakfast has an impressive array of local foods, though it is very busy in the morning.

MalaysiaThis hotel has a more funky arcade feel due to its colour scheme and lobby entertainment. The rooms are spacious and beds come with thick puffy boasters and pillows. The only slight downside is the air conditioning - it was too cold for my preferences and I did not know how to fix it. Overall, definitely worth it when you stay in Vung Tau.

AustraliaReally annoying that the only way to charge food or drinks to the room was to leave a significant cash deposit. It was our last days in Vietnam so didn't have cash but the hotel would not take credit card as insurance should we check out without paying.

VietnamBreakfast had a good selection however most of the dishes contain pork so I couldn’t eat anything as I don’t eat pork so that was disappointed for me. The parking area is away from the building so for lazy walkers like me it isn’t good. They have old non android TVs so you can’t connect/watch Netflix or other streaming channels
Modern aesthetically pleasing design. Very spacious and comfortable. Bright uplifting colors. New stylish decor. Ideally situated opposite the beach. Staff are extremely helpful and accommodating. I had a problem with my booking and they sorted it out in a short time. The pool area has amazing views, but no umbrellas in the seating area to protect you from the sun. The water was sparking clean and has a rooftop bar. Clean neat gym room. Mattress and bedding was of the highest hotel quality. Top stuff. Great sea views
